It carries over into the next playthrough. I went all the SP ones the first run with Souji because once you start getting things like Zero, Awakened Eva 01 and et all, it's kind of hard to resist the urge to bump everybody up at the start of a map.

Plus it's an easy way to get the 50000 damage trophy out of the way quickly. Managed to do it with a Courage'd Attacker Great Might Gaine with Double Dorinken on one of the Gamilus fighter jets.

Literally just got that point myself. Hit the first two Metal Beasts with Getter Tomahawk and only Defend against the third so that Ryouma gets as much morale as possible. Use Grit to restore Ryouma's HP if needed on Turn 2.

Once the ally reinforcements arrive, surround one of the Metal Beasts with four units, cast Analyze on it from the Yamato, and attack with Getter's finisher using Smash Hit to guarantee a critical.

Yamato itself can also one-shot a Metal Beast with a crit from its second-strongest attack, which it should be able to use immediately upon deployment.

Gaogaigar does close range, as do the Aestis, but the Air Aestis get a 2-6 if you want that. The three Valkyries are all basically the same, but 19E has some hella long range stuff, so keep that in mind for later. Falsaber, Venus A, and Mazinger all have a 2-6/2-7 finisher and you should have at least two of them together (probably the last with a Valk.)


As a reminder, in L, UX, and BX, squad leader only matters in combat in a few circumstances, 90% of the time your leader is just the guy who's GOTTAGOFASTer than the other.

It's one of the few units that doesn't get fucked in the upgrade tier for weapons department. +1900 because it's S-sized, unlike everything that's M+ being +1600 even if its bases are better-suited for +1900.

It's best to think about this sort of thing logically, anon. Those series were literally never - as in 0% chance, it wasn't happening - going to be in Z3 or V. So either it was "wait until they get in" (which could be one year, it could be ten years, who knows) or "they get in X-O".
