I think Gundam X is probably the best Gundam series I've seen because
1. It rejects transhumanism and the concept of newtypes being the "next stage" in human development
2. It doesn't get preachy about its self-effacing (((anti war))) message like 00 or SEED Destiny
3. It somehow successfully combines a serious contingent plotline with comfy slice-of-life subplots
4. It was canceled like the original Gundam but still managed to have a good ending

Basically top tier as far as /m/ shows go as a whole IMO

Gundam Wing sucks. Anyone who still likes it is driven by nostalgia. FACT.

Gundam Wing and it's characters aspired to be great but the execution of certain plot points and the way certain characters conveyed their philosophical ideals/ideas came off as overly dramatic or underwhelming.

Had this show had more time and was perhaps more thought out, it could have been one of the greatest.

As it stands however, it's a good show with many flaws.

Wing is overhated.
2nd half wasn't as exciting as 1st was, but it still held up for the most part.
And moronic characters are pretty much Gundam staple.
People need to stop taking this pseudo-political crap seriously.
