Why didn't he just shoot him?
You can't kill him or you'll be just like him

It's so funny seeing Optimus do this then seeing how he would later rip off enemy's faces, decapitate them, and shoot someone execution style

>freedom is the right of all sentient beings
>GIVE ME YOUR FACE
>NO OPTIMUS
>I"LL KILL YOU
Typical heroic nonsense. He was going to, Megatron begs for mercy, and Optimus has to point out the irony in a speech that gives Hotrod enough time to be an idiot. Though even without Hotrod's interference I bet there'd have been a moment of trying to make Megatron understand the weight of his crimes, which he'd have just used to grab his gun.

That's exactly what was happening. For all his earlier talk prime didn't take the shot when he had the chance. The only thing Hot Rod did was delay the inevitable and became a nice scapegoat so retarded G1 fans don't have to realize prime's a shitty leader

Are any of the Bay movies legitimately worth watching for robots in disguise? I've seen clips of most of Prime's fights, but how much of the films are that vs dumb human drama filler?

Giving me flashbacks of Snake in MGS3 whenever a cobra member shows up
>>15294308
Just the first one. Ignore the rest.
>>15294214
He had every intention to.

It gets less robot-centric as the movies go on. In Dark of the Moon, a major-ish Decepticon gets killed by a barrage of regular bullets from machine guns. I guess Age of Extinction is okay.
>>15294214
This isn't pointed out in the movie, but an earlier draft confirms that Decepticons chose their new leaders almost immediately, so killing Megatron (instead of taking him prisoner), wouldn't have helped them at all.
>>15294214
Because his enemy for millions of years was begging for mercy at his feet. How many of you won't hesitate just to gloat in that situation or revel in the moment?
>>15294226
Was that blood spray? Holy fuck, it's been forever since I watched these movies, or I would have remembered something so retarded.
>>15294223
>thinking G1 Transformers are the same as Michael Bay Edgeformers
>>15294612
Yeah, bayformers are completely superior to G1
>>15294505
Except that literally happens in the movie
>>15294648
>he doesn't think Primeformers are the best
>>15294214
He going to, but decided to point out how Megatron was a whiny little bitch when there was a gun to his head despite all the ones he'd killed.
He only got killed because Hot Rod stupidly jumped in, otherwise he'd maybe have gotten shot once by Megatron's sneak attack before finishing him off. If he didn't just shoot him a second later.

Unfortunately while the robot stuff gets better as the series goes on, so does the human drama increase.
AoE wasn't actually too bad about this at first as Marky Mark is a hell of alot more tolerable than the Beef, but it just ran on an hour too long and had to drag in all the Chinese pandering ruining what it had built.
The first film is probably the best in terms of story, and most of the human stuff is stuff that's mildly interesting like how the military would initially react to Transfomers, but the TFs themselves don't get too much screentime on account of them not being too confident in the CGI, and the initial Optimus vs Megatron fight is kind of lame.

Eh, then you've seen most of the good parts of them.
