Hathaway gets pissed about how the EF is corrupt and how they got Guess killed in CCA and all that blahblahblah we know about. Then he joins the spaceETA and steals the Gundam. It is not that complex, really.

Feds start deporting the poor into colonies, so fat fucks can eminent domain their land. This is really bad because the fat fucks start shitting where they eat before running off to another plot of land. Because the Feds no longer want to keep this secret, they tabled a bill that allows them to do it legally.

Basically in this timeline, he shoots at Char but like with Lalah, Quess takes the blow and dies. Hathaway becomes full Ciaphas Cain in the eyes of the Federation for saving Beltorchika and single-handedly taking down a powerful Newtype mobile armor.
