Do spaceships count /m/?
>>15292550
Duh. Even SRWV acknowledges it.
>>15292550
>Do spaceships count /m/?
If words don't mean what they say then yes spaceships are mecha.
>>15292550
SRW V gave this ship way too much fucking exposure, now I want to watch the series
Is it worth the time?
>>15292698
If you like old animes and space adventures, go for the original series. If you dont have much patience with older stuff, and like some space political intrigue and girls in tight suits, go for 2199.
>>15292550
No. GTFO
Spaceship threads are fairly common here.
>>15292550
Why would they make Yamato into a space battleship?
wouldn't a Spacecraft Carrier Akagi make more sense?
>>15292550
It's mechanical, so yes.
>>15292714
They both look decent in their own way.
Which has the most battles (and most UTEEEE scenes?)
>>15294644
Then I suggest 2199, it have more of what could be called of conventional space battles. It heavily uses cgi, but I remember it being pretty decent last time I watched. In contrast, in the original series have less conventional space battles and the episodes generally centers around some wacky plan or threat, like a plan to use some space rock creatures to form a giant space rock creature and attack the Yamato, a automanned alien space station, and so on.
>>15294749
The use of CG in 2199 is about as good as it can be while attempting to maintain visual consistency with 2D animation and the show is otherwise completely worth watching in its own right ad a /m/ series.
>>15293659
The Yamato's a hell of a lot more iconic, even compared to the IJN's actual flagship.
>>15293659
Because the Yamato was symbolic to the Imperial Japanese and Yamato was originally all about that.
The 2199 does away with most of that and everything is referred to as the UN
>>15297663
Yamato was made iconic by the anime, during the war it was top secret and most of the IJN's top brass including Yamamoto Isoroku didn't even know anything about it except the name, and the general public had no idea it even existed. After the war they were told "oh we had this top secret battleship too" and nobody cared.
>>15297670
>symbolic to the Imperial Japanese and Yamato was originally all about that
Yes, Matsumoto fucking Leiji who hates imperial Japan and is a crazy left wing nut made a show about how great the IJN was.
Idiot.
>>15298334
Anon, stop talking so much bullshit when you don't know shit.
> during the war it was top secret and most of the IJN's top brass including Yamamoto Isoroku didn't even know anything about it except the name
Isoroku Yamamoto knew very well about the Yamato, he was against the ship construction since the begging because he thought it would be a waste of money. Not just that, the Yamato was his fucking flagship during the Battle of Midway.
> the general public had no idea it even existed.
The Yamato was only maintained as secret from the general public during her construction, and specifics and capabilities were also not made public, but as soon the ship was officially commissioned it was used as propaganda tool, showing the public "look folks, we have the greastest and mightiest battleship in human history!". That was also one of the reasons that in the initial phase of the war the jap high command holded the Yamato from battle, they feared that if they lossed the ship, public morale would go violently down.
>>15298572
>I know history better than actual history books
okay retard
>>15298572
>>15298334
>Yes, Matsumoto fucking Leiji who hates imperial Japan and is a crazy left wing nut made a show about how great the IJN was.
Matsumoto is a right-wing nationalist.
>>15298334

If dudes wearing tight spandex and motorcycle gear are /m/ I think ships also count.
>>15294749
Well this is awesome
Thanks for the recommendation
>>15292550
>that crap low budget CG
no
>>15305055
On one hand I understand why they didn't make the fighters their own units. But it's a shame they're just an attack.
I hate it when Pay2Win games have good designs.
>>15298877
>you can't put a tank in space, they said
>>15312838
Star confilict has surprisingly great art direction, for a mediocre FTP gopnik space grinding sim.
>>15312771
What's this from? I' feel like i've seen art from it before.
>>15292550
Did /k/ finally kick you out after battleship thread #68?
>>15292550
No less /m/ than silly asian men in spandex costumes.
>>15314813
At first i thought it might be a Na'Kuhl ship from STO.
But now im sure it's a Vasari dreadnought from Sins of a solar empire: Rebellion.
Not sure wether it's rebel or loyalist version though.
>>15315299
Man the timeline/factions in STO are weird.
>>15314818
Big guns are gay
Missiles FTW
>>15315740
lmao enjoy CIWS kid
>>15305055
Check out the live action movie as well.
>>15315963
Good luck engaging a missile travelling at Mach 10 a meter above the water's surface with CIWS
>>15315963
nigga if your going to talk shit at least pick a system that works like RAM
>>15316776
RAM is a CIWS
>>15315963
Can a CIWS stop all of these?
>>15318225
This reminds me.
LotGH has a re boot this year. I hope the new ships are brilliantly designed.
ITS BEEN A LONG ROAD
GETTING FROM THERE TO HEAR
Covenant spaceships from Halo have the best aehsetic, prove me wrong
>>15320978

>>15317006
Just use lasers nigga swat them like flies.
>>15321114
Anything can be a sex toy if you are brave enough.
>>15321255
>YFW the covenant's largest carrier is so big that if they made a game piece of it to scale with the other ships in the tabeltop game it'd be 3 feet long
They actually made one for a promo event, it's absurd.
I actually have a series of like 30 scale charts of Halo stuff, including ships and some of their powered exoskeletons, would anybody want me to dump those?
>>15321276
Someone post that huge Galactic Empire ship story.
Do space monsters count /m/?
>>15321290
If you can pilot them like mecha or kill them using mecha then yeah they're /m/
>>15321278

That's the Loyalist Vasari titan from Rebellion, specifically.
>>15321276

Go ahead.
>>15292563
