Because having people allied to you based around solely a relationship and not a common goal is completely unreliable, especially considering how much they've created this idealized, noble McGillis in their head. He probably thought he was living up to his ideals doing those avoidable, understaffed inspections, by the way he was acting in S1. Carta may not have been completely conscious of Gjallajorn's decay, but she sure reveled and took advantage of it, turning the Outer Earth Orbit fleet into a her personal McGillis copy harem after Iznario and having them roleplay as knights.

It also seems to me that you are thinking about things on a personal level, whereas McGillis is thinking on a purely pragmatic, political level. McGillis is trying to build a movement that will transform Gjallajorn completely. To do that he needs a solid, reliable powerbase and dedicated followers, not friends who are only there because they like you. He hired Tekkadan as basically mercenaries to supplement his main forces, and the only thing that's keeping them in at this point is the promise of the King of Mars shit. So if Kimaris Vidar were to released, it would parallel the Kimaris Trooper release, when all the hype will be over, especially those time there would be a follow up sequel. Hence, maybe that's why there is no news yet. The 1/100 Kimaris Trooper was kind of unexpected and a low cost project anyway.

Okay fine, you saw through my ruse. Actually my mother's boyfriend is one of the mechanical designer of the show (I can't tell who though) and since Gaelio was my favourite character he drew a few Kimaris for him that actually ended up being greenlighted by Bandai. So Okada had to modify the story and ressucitate Gaelio because of me. I'm so sorry, I knew I should have stopped them, after all he's not a main character.
