What are Japanese mecha fans like? Are they as passionate as we are? Are there any Lazy Matsumoto/ Valvragers among them?

>Are they as passionate as we are?
Passionate as in they actually create fan works, organise events and have a genuine impact on the direction of the genre (for better or worse).
If you ever actually become passionate about something in your life you'll become able to see how apathetic and dispassionate /m/ actually is

>you'll become able to see how apathetic and dispassionate /m/ actually is
Is this fleshie serious? /m/ has been a bastion of mecha fan translations for over a decade now. Users of /m/ have made stuff that was once completely obscure to English anime fans now common knowledge.

There's a chink in that Gundam

Not to mention some of the/m/ projects like group effort MS Paint openings (Macross, whatever happened to that Mazinger one?) or the ongoing SRW translation. There is a lot of shit posting but /m/ does also get shit done.

>Are there any Lazy Matsumoto/ Valvragers among them?
There's a shitposter on 2ch and 2chan named Maeda who frequently targets Nagano and Tomino in the same way Lazyrager does (making up false information and quotes etc) but unlike /m/, the Nip Otaku are fanatical as fuck and tracked down his fucking house threatening to kick his ass. And somehow that didn't even faze him (probably because they're all NEETs or some shit).

Let's do the same thing to xpearse, since he's the lazy matsumoto/spic shitposter. Most of the shitposting on this board is by him.

We can add snapshit and his gay roomate to that list too.

Found the thread where they track him down. He popped up in it earlier but since 2chan has mods unlike /m/ his posts actually got deleted.

That's sad but hilarious. Then again these are the same guys who sent Anno death threats and ended up doing nothing.

probably the dude that was recollecting the frames got too much work to do, after all he said he's a teacher
also he lost all frames, so he had to search in the archives as well as requesting them again in the last thread
>>15284871
Thats too bad. I remember seeing the thread after he lost them. I hope it can get finished, I love stuff like that.

it's been like half a year, but i believe in him

They buy Blu rays of the shows they like just to show support.
/m/ downloads them free and relevant companies never know people like the shows
>>15284951
You say this as if the raws that get downloaded and translated aren't uploaded by Japanese people. Also /m/ actually buys quite a bit of DVD and Blu-ray releases since its the only way to get subs for a lot of mecha shows, you are thinking of /a/ who obsesses about BD sales and what is a flop and yet won't support any show they like.
>>15284951
Whatever English anime fans do literally doesn't matter and makes no difference whatsoever

>Death threats
EVA Otaku are far worse than other Otaku, no matter what country they're in, so they shouldn't be used as a standard.
