So I did the QC work on these well over a year ago, and blind51de hasn't updated in almost a year. I figured that it'd be for the best to finally release these to the community.
https://mega.nz/#F!0twHCSBC!l0J1b9l_mrpA8sRGaCxyGw
I take no credit for anything beyond muxing these and fixing a few grammar/timing issues. I haven't looked at these in well over a year, so there's probably some fuck ups here and there, too, but nothing that makes it unwatchable as far as I remember.
Thank you so much Anon. I started Nova last December but stopped because of how screwed up the subs were. These look great.
>>15274239
OH WOW! Thanks a ton dude.
Man we've been hoping for these for how long? feels like ages. You did us a real solid
Tastes like progress.

>>15274296
>Man we've been hoping for these for how long? feels like ages.
It's been talked about for at least four years now. I'm surprised it took so long, since it's not a particularly long series. I guess it's mostly because, honestly, it's not a very good show. It's not unwatchable or anything, its just average.
>>15274327
>its just average.
I kind of want to hold it as being somewhat above average because I every time I go to tell people it's middle of the road I remember something it does that just makes me really happy.
It might not do anything special, you're right at that but it does a lot of things that are, well they just do it right.
My favorite part is a bit early on where an episode ends with them in Dancouga being constricted by a giant robot snake as a cliffhanger and then when the next episode airs they just decombined off screen are gleefully running havoc inside the thing.
And then there's just bits like where Norio Wakamoto gets into an argument with himself, the Gendo looking guy really isn't up to any shit despite lots of shots framing him sinisterly and is just a generally happy middle manager, the Rei clone is more of a Dirty Harry clone and Aoi just being generally Aoi.
At 12 episodes it's a perfect length and it even manages to give it's alt super forms each enough time to really shine. For any fault with the show it's just a nice fun way to unwind or watch between heavier series
>The subs won't appear for me
I really gotta watch this sometime. The Dankuken combo in SRW was great.
>>15274239
Good, now all of the Dancouga(r) franchise is officially done. Congrats and thanks!
>>15274584
We're still missing 3 episodes of Blazing Epilouge.
>>15274655
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Guess the subninjas won in one area.
I never thought it would happen.
Finally. Thanks for the effort, now to be patient while MEGA impose it's limits...
>>15274360
Agreed, it's not the best thing in the world, and that's fine.
>>15274239
Fuck yes, I've been waiting far too long.
>>15274986
Yeah, even now I just remember another thing I love.
They play their battle music via external speakers. Honestly it's always the little things that make me love a show.
>>15274239
Wealth and glory to the anons! Thanks for putting this up. JUST watched the first episode and for the longest time thought that the blonde was just a tomboy but is actually a dude.
Hum... episode 10 is chinese audio only...
>>15274239
Do you happen to have a link to just the sub files?
Is this one really that popular?
I like the OG Dancouga quite a lot and Nova started promising (right from the great OP song), but the plot was so mediocre that this show was instantly kicked into "don't bother"-tier for me.
Gundam 00 was more subtle, which is saying something...
>>15274239
Thanks
>>15276697
>Is this one really that popular?
No, it really isn't.
It's an enjoyable enough Obari mecha, though, and it does some neat things.
The OP is absolutely kick ass.
>>15276617
Ah, hell, I must've muxed the wrong track. I'll remux and reupload.
>>15276656
I'll toss it up soon, anon-kun.
Okay, uploaded a fixed version of Ep 10 and the scripts.
About time. Now to wait for it to be on a streaming site and I'll get it from that.
>>15276697
Im not sure if Id call it popular but the show has it's fanbase, at least here anyways. As for comparing it to original? I suppose Id call it more evenly paced. OG Dancouga was like 40 episodes and there where a lot of good ones, but it's much more of a time investment. Nova is a nice easily digested 12 that gets right to the thick of things pretty quickly and generally resolves it's plots a lot faster.
>>15277248
Thanks again, NovaBro. Dancouga Brova
>>15277248
Thanks.
>>15276697
The thing is, when the original Dancouga was bad, it was really, REALLY bad. And when it was good, it was really good. So it averages out to being kind of average, but you remember the high points more. Nova's a lot more smoothed out, and probably about the same level of overall quality, but because it's shorter I think it has the advantage overall.
>TFW every once in a while the show gets a new bit of fan art.
All those SRW appearances really helped, though I wish it wasn't benched for the game that got an English translation. Would have loved to use it
>>15277671
This is Burning Epilogue permanently lives at the bottom of the to-do list. It's bad even by Dancouga standards.
>>15278038
it was the best
>>15274239
will this be on nyaa at some point?
>>15277162
Thanks bro. Finally, my Nova DVD raws have their subs.

>>15279023

love this show.
Also, I have to admit, I like that Nova pulls out the Dankuuken at a reasonable fucking time unlike the original show, which only actually brought out the weapon for the stinking OVA and spent the entire show only using guns, half of its cannons, fists, and its tiny chest lasers.
>>15279048
Dancouga original and reasonable time are like oil and water. Fuck it took like 16 episode for them to even form the fucking robot. Nova would have been over for a month before they even combined
burn sure was weird wasn't it
Not really that weird as far as "enslaved humans fighting against alien overlords" stories go. Though I guess the fact that the villain's objective was pretty much just to be a cosmic asshole and not really the conquest itself was pretty unusual.
I appreciate the amount of thought Hasegawa put in the technical aspects of it.
>>15281102
>Those face knees

>>15281102
>I appreciate the amount of thought Hasegawa put in the technical aspects of it.
There's a lot of neat bits
>>15279057
If the original Dancouga was like half the length it was, it would've be fucking amazing. It's honestly one of the most frustrating series I've ever seen.
>>15280429
I actually really liked Burn, honestly. Probably the most enjoyable part of the Dancouga franchise in my book- it's a fast read, the action's fun, the characters are enjoyable enough. It doesn't over stay its welcome like the original, but isn't like Nova where it feels a bit rushed. It feels decently paced for what it is.
>>15282294
I'm glad that Oppai translated it all, if only for being a Hasegawa manga that isn't Gundam for once (too many of his other works get ignored). Even has some fan art, as well.
>>15281102

It's been like five years. Hell, I don't think the links for ch1 are even up anymore and i lost my copy in a hard drive crash awhile back, unfortunately.

Yep.
He did Gigantis too, that weird crossover between Ideon and UC Gundam that is fortunately totally noncanon to either that introduced the Mega Zeta.
this is out there but does anyone have the OSTs?
They used to be on nyaa but are gone now
>>15284775
Pray to the high heavens that Oppai does it (that's IF SRW GC ever gets done this century), I doubt anybody else will.

Is it too late to release anyway?
I literally had one piece of annoying typesetting to do I was going to outsource, but decided to try doing myself, gave up, forgot the project several times; only remembering when someone reposted an Aoi pic.
Seriously, anyone who can typeset a single line using mocha. That's all I've needed for a year and half.
>>15287412
Well if you have them ready to go we'd certainly appreciate you posting them. I mean look at how many sets of subs popular shows get, seeing something like this have extra options would be great too.
>>15282294
It's a bad sign when the best entry in your franchise is Hasegawa made.
>>15287412
>Seriously, anyone who can typeset a single line using mocha. That's all I've needed for a year and half.
So... you delayed releasing an entire show because of a single line that bothered you? Even though you knew hundreds of anons were anxiously waiting for years? One fucking line?
I guess that's autis/m/ for ya.
>>15287545
Nova's good fun and the original has it's high points. It's just not really a series suited to long form series
>>15287412
>That's all I've needed for a year and half.
You didn't release it because one line of typesetting bothered you. For like two years.
Anybody know where I can hire shinobi in my area?
Didn't there use to be like, super high quality versions of the eyecatches available online? Or did I imagine that?
>>15290668
There where. We lost a lot of shit when Daitrombe went down but there where wallpaper sized versions back when the show was airing.
A lot of shit got taken down or isn't seeded. Can't find the OST/Drama CD anymore either and it's only by miracle that a few hentai sights had the art books
>>15290786
RIP Daitrombe.
>>15290786
Did the only Asian-English dub for ZZ Gundam ever get recovered? I remember that was lost when Megaupload went down, same with a lot of /m/ shit.
>>15290809
Im not sure we recovered half of what we lost. Entire series, soundtracks, doujins all gone.
>>15290786
I remember seeing the eyecatches on regular boorus though, like the old moe.imouto, but now they're not on any of them. How odd.
Anyway, I found them easily. Was actually the first result on Google Images for ダンクーガノヴァ.

>>15287612
>>15287634
>So... you delayed releasing an entire show because of a single line that bothered you?
>You didn't release it because one line of typesetting bothered you. For like two years.
Not quite. It's very possible to get burned out on a project and I wanted to do this one last thing without anyone's help and it was just too much of a hassle to do in one sitting. I probably did six or seven cycles of work overall on Nova and in finding myself with one last hurdle, took a break that turned into catastrophic procrastination.
Modest Man did the right thing, but if anyone wants to help me deliver just this one time. Leave me some contact info if you can motion track.
>>15290945
It's not that I don't appreciate your hard work, but you really should have just released it and fixed that one thing later rather than delay it for so long. Hopefully you can find somebody to help you sooner rather than later.
>>15287412
>Is it too late to release anyway?
Just do it. It's not like there was a prize for this.
Everything about this shot hurts me.
>>15292385
>Donkuger.png
Did this get fixed in the home release?
>>15292387
The animation was generally greatly improved, yes but you're still gonna see the occasional shot of quality. Especially these days when we got people who actively freeze frames to look for it.
>>15274239
Thank you!
It took time but it was worth it.
The show is good and for me it was a pleasure to rewatch it. Of course you can't compare its aestetic with any Gundam around; it's a matter of money/resources but if you look at the story and how well it evolves, the characters, the music and all that Obari, well it comes out that Nova is truly a gem.
So F.S should be more than 100 years old; the old Dancouga is set around the end of 20th century while Nova in the year 2107. We don't know how that's possibile... probably since he's friend with Sandman they use the same trick LOL
>>15294942
>the old Dancouga is set around the end of 20th century while Nova in the year 2107.
The old Dancouga isn't set in the same world. The only implication of anything related to the original Dancouga is that shot of Final in that one episode, but that was in reference to an alien civilization and the "original Dancouga" turned out to be something totally different looking.
Say, you think someone could subbed the 39 episodes of Daigunder? the dubbed version wasn't even finished after all these years so I was wondering if someone could do the dvd jap version instead?
>>15295785
Subdivers are doing just that, actually.

>>15298979
I find it amusing that the Burn cast is practically a harem.
>>15299482
>I find it amusing that the Burn cast is practically a harem.
The series toyed with the idea, but Shou is too much if a stick in the mud to be a harem lead. He's also possibly a pedo.
I kinda like how the three series combined have a perfectly even number of male and female pilots, though. They should make Dancouga Angels next.
>>15299977
Im waiting for Crisis on Infinite Dancouga
>>15299977
>>15300016
If he wasn't so busy spending days churning out Gundam to not run out of money, Hasegawa would surely go wild with the idea.
>>15300016
TRIPLE DANKUUKEN would be the greatest thing.
Maybe all three of them firing their big guns in formation at once too.

>>15300042
>if Crossbone can get in why not Burn
The lack of voice actors or music probably are a big part.
>>15302374
Those things sure didn't stop Crossbone, because Gundam.
Besides, when does Hasegawa's other manga ever get acknowledged? At this rate even Victory's side story and the MSV Johnny Ridden manga will get in before Burn does.
>>15302410
>Besides, when does Hasegawa's other manga ever get acknowledged? At this rate even Victory's side story and the MSV Johnny Ridden manga will get in before Burn does.
He wrote MAPS though. It has 2 anime adaptations. That's 2 more adaptations than crossbone has.
>>15302445
A fair point. It really says a lot on how much Late UC gets ignored when MAPS gets the anime treatment for some weird reason (especially with the second version done by TMS, of all companies).
That said, the 80s movie still isn't subbed, is it.
That's some nice live action footage in the background.
>>15302410
>Those things sure didn't stop Crossbone, because Gundam.
Because Crossbone had VAs and music from Gundam games. Dancouga BURN doesn't have VAs and music from Dancouga games.
That's how Linebarrels got in, too, and how Astray got music for W (although as memory serves it did get a short, ten minute animation or something similar.
>>15302410
>Besides, when does Hasegawa's other manga ever get acknowledged?
One day, anon, it will happen.
>>15302866
Burn would make for a fun 6 episode OVA
Am I the only one who loves both OG and Dancouga Nova?
OG Dancouga has it's draggy moments and budget went to shit at points, but I Love the Cast, the military and super robot hybrid, and how pure hot blood it all, that it's enough to make up for it's short comings.
Nova I'd say is as good as the Original, but I think it has the opposite problem of being too short, I think it should have gotten a follow up OVA as I think it could have made it stronger as a whole. Still really good in my opinion.
Both have Super Rad robots and bitchin music

No. You are not THE ONLY ONE. You are never the only one.
