You can hide guns under a cloak.

There are so many story elements you can do with a cloak

>hide armaments in it
>use it to keep your true from being revealed
>can exist as a power limiter to throw off when you're serious
>makes the mech inherently mysterious
>glowing eyes out of a hood in a cloak is inherently cool
