Daily reminder that it's pretty obvious now the way this is going to end.

Mika is going to fuck Atra off-screen while attached to Barbatos before he eventually dies once the series reach the end.
And because Mika was plugged into Barbatos while fucking Atra, their kid will have a natural compatibility with piloting a Gundam without needing the Allah-Vagina system.
Then on the final episode they will show us a time-skip where Atra is all grown up and we will see Hush training a young kid that just happens to look a lot like Mika, to insure that Tekkadan lives on should anything come to disturb these now peaceful days.

This is so cheesy that I am putting my hands in fire that it will happen.
It's the typical Okada shit, down to the very last line of father figures and passing the values over to the new generation.

And also In case you aren't aware, Bael and Barbatos are sister units and the only two Gundams to have been built by Agnika's father. All the other Frames were built by Agnika himself.
Hence it's also pretty obvious that Bael is getting destroyed in a extremely anti-climatic way because the entire legend was nothing but a ruse.
Barbatos is the one who actually holds Agnika's soul and Choco was too much of a fool to have realized this.

I can understand the logic of Merribit getting with the old man, but narratively speaking, they were teasing her with Orga the whole first season that it makes little sense why they didn't continue that for the 2nd season. One problem with Orga in Season 2 is that I feel like he needs a character to confide in or clash with who is willing to criticize what he's doing in a meaningful manner, preferably a feminine character whom like Atra kind of does the whole "you need to settle down" thing. McGillis has to fail because the show has spent the past four or so episodes setting up Tekkadan's downfall from allying with him and showing that he is a fucking stupid madman who is in way over his head.

The problem with the whole idea of Gaelio reforming Gjallarhorn is that his behavior this season doesn't really give him much in the way of moral accountability.

He's been chastising Macky for how he's manipulated others, but at the same time has sided with Rustal for really no other reason than his desire for revenge and his gratefulness to Rustal for saving him.

The exchange between Gaelio and Isurugi in the last episode highlights the differences in the best of McGillis' supporters and the best of Rustal's supporters as does Gaelio's statement to Julietta about how she's "doing it right". For Gaelio, he doesn't understand how ANYONE with a brain can follow McGillis because he places a strong value on personal loyalty and honor. For Isurugi, he doesn't try to justify McGillis' actions, but he is willing to overlook them because he believes McGillis' goals are ultimately worth fighting for. He's not so much loyal to McGillis as he is to the ideal that McGillis strives for and as long as McGillis seems capable of taking Gjallarhorn to that goal, that's all that matters. His loyalty to McGillis is not as a friend or a brother, sentimental things that Gaelio places such a high value on that he's willing to help a guy that tried to assassinate a political figure that was acting against his interests and hired a mercenary to manipulate Tekkadan and start the first war between economic blocs in many years. All Macky really did was betray two of his closest friends because they stood in the way of himself and Tekkadan (which he claims was for the greater good of reforming the corrupt Gjallarhorn), but for Gaelio that's even worse cause of the value he placed on things like personal loyalty and friendship. Gaelio of course says that McGillis only values brute force and strong authority, but some people who support McGillis who desperately want change in Gjallarhorn may be okay with that..

Macky has actually been playing by the rules far more than Rustal. Once Macky got where he wanted to be, he did everything more or less by the book. Even his seizure of Bael was not exactly as autistic as people make it out to be. He was trying to exploit a technicality in Gjallarhorn's constitution or whatever and reduce the need for bloodshed by simply piloting Bael and thus earning a kind of mystic validation that all truly devout members of Gjallarhorn would recognize. Had Gaelio not lived and given Rustal a better hand, Macky might have been able to come out of this with minimal resistance.

Let's look at Rustal so far:
1. Tried to assassinate the leader of Arbrau
2. Started a 3 month war
3. used his agents to manipulate Tekkadan
4. saved Iok's retarded ass after he committed a bunch of war crimes he didn't have to commit cause of his pride
5. Injected an agent among the revolutionaries to fire a Dainsleif so that he could unleash the dainsleifs and save face by being able to say "well they did it first."

What I like about Rustal is how he justifies himself by saying that Gjallarhorn is not the expression of Agnika's will alone but the expression of 300 years of Gjallarhorn history, that history having value that a reactionary fundamentalist like McGillis can't just overturn it cause of his childish dreams of being the savior of the world like his favorite literary hero. But really, this guy is a scumbag whose concept of order is just Gjallarhorn maintaining a monopoly on control no matter the costs.

The problem is that Isurugi's fighting for someone who believes he's the one true leader of Gjallarhorn by principle of piloting the Bael. Isurugi may certainly be just fighting for McGillis's goal, but the crux of McGillis's goal is that he's the one in charge above all else and has the right to rule for possessing the sword in the stone.

That sounds fine and all until the guy you put on the throne turns out to be just as bad, and you fought to put another tyrant in power. Maybe that's not the intent of the writers but it seems clear to me that you simply can't separate the man from the goal because for McGillis being in power is the first important part of the goal. So it's important for the man to be someone you can trust, someone who will live up to the ideals you place on them.

The way I see it, Isurugi is either fooling himself into thinking that McGillis is just a means to the end, which isn't the case, or he's created an idealistic McGillis who is god-like and infallible, so things like trust, loyalty, and camaraderie are unnecessary.

It's clear that Gaelio is letting his vendetta against McGillis and his gratitude to Rustal is leading him astray. But then again, both sides believe that they're right to do what they're doing and are willing to overlook a lot of stuff

Cut to three hundred years later. Tekkadan forces are attacking a rebel base on Mars. All hope seems lost until one of their members bursts through the ground with a hastily rebuild and underarmed Barbatos.

Probably would've worked a lot better, but Rustal got him to play his cards too early and then outmaneuvered him with Gaelio's speech turning the rest of the seven stars against him. Its telling that they chose to stay neutral even though they know he's done. They probably would've been less resistance if not for that. Apparently if you have a too competent villain then apparently the protagonists' side are power-hungry retards for using a plan that makes sense in the context of their world.

Most of good and bad stuff about Gjallajorn come entirely from how they setup the world after the Calamity War. Best part about Gjallajorn was creating pretty much uniform enforcement on keeping overpowered weapons either very limited or outright illegal. However, if they didn't create the economic blocs and put them in charge of Mars we wouldn't be having this conflict at all. Ever since then Gjallajorn has basically been running on inertia and maintaining this status quo that they created 300 years ago, even if it means doing assasinations, false flags and provoking conflicts rather than make adjustments (see the entirety of S1, where they could've avoided the whole thing from the beginning if they just let Kudelia negotiate).

As regarding the adjustments, all they had to do was standby and let Kudelia negotiate with Arbrau and adjustments would've happened without them having to do anything. Instead Mars branch tries to kill Kudelia to provoke riots and the rest of Gjallajorn (minus McGillis in his Montag getup) go along with it.
