I mean, Tetsuya and Great's designs already come from Shin Mazinger's production. Same goes for the VA, he voiced him in the show and was tapped to voice him again for the game.

A big part of his involvement was simply a tie-in for the Emperor G toy they're releasing.

Only hope for a new Grendizer appearance in SRW would be for them to get another toy tie-in release.

Speaking personally, I'd prefer if they didn't.

Grendizer's a thing from my childhood that I honestly don't care too much about.

I still hold some nostalgia for it, but most of it was crushed by the fact that you can honestly find Grendizer merch, posters, and grafitti art around every corner of my country.

RGZ and Mazinger Otome had alrigh takes on Grendizer.

I think Otome wins by a mile in terms of which one is the better female Grendizer.

Neo Zeon includes the Delaz Fleet and the enemies from 08th - the only allies are Shiro and (if you get a secret) Kiki shows up. 0080 completed and Bernie joined the Feddies, they are on every stage in the Earth Chapter and if you get a secret they steal the G3 and the CC Zaku from a Megaborg. I forget who from ZZ is alive, but I'm pretty sure Glemy was, and the Purus are. Also F91 happens... It just kind of happens really.

MSG is plotless and only provides MSes. CCA is that until the secret ending stages when suddenly they throw like everything from the movie at you as well as possibly Gato at level 99.

I'm a scrub who, to this day, can't finish Alpha Gaiden but that stage is easy as shit. I only used prevail level 9 + guards on my super and didn't upgrade the robots at all but I got through that stage pretty easy.

I don't think there's even a strategy involved. I just plowed through them like usual. Use prospect for more valors, use haze on the boss etc, pretty general strategy.

For the Atlas Mk-IIs that came later, I just parked Great Might Gaine with Iron Wall and he murdered every single one of those crap.

Are there any major secrets from the 3-way route split in the late 30s? My gut says colony laser will be most entertaining but will the earth route be needed for upgrading Shinji?

The ideal route to take if you want everyone after stage 22 is don't call Londo Bell, either UC or AD is fine, go to space and you get everyone in your second playthough since Yazan and Jerid join early if you do this.

The weirdest thing about everyone's hateboner for Souji is that they keep getting on him for being mean to Nine when he goes out of his way to be nice to her and apologizes immediately whenever he thinks he's hurt her feelings.

Hah. Standby Strategy on a unit with Zeal and the item that gives you 5 ExC is fantastic. It's even better on a pilot with high skill and double attack. I popped them on Amuro to initially compensate for a lack of Accel before he even learned Zeal and he was already taking out 3-5 enemies or more per activation, but Zeal is just taking things to a new level. It gets even better on large maps when I have a command ship use the instant recovery on him from max distance and have him blitz across the map.

If I could get another one of the use items I'd give it to someone like Kira so the two of them could snipe things from crazy distances and never see a counterattack.

i think at this point people are exaggerating a bit too much about everyone having some sort of hate boner for Souji, yeah he doesn't have luck with women and for the most part hides his feelings with his laid-back act, but its not like everyone his bullying him constantly heck a lot of characters are pretty much friendly with him, he just sometimes look for problems himself too.

Some characters are actually joking with him just like a lot of people shit themselves just for fun, also just because he doesn't have luck with women doesn't mean that all the girls hate him and are mean to him, Souji actually can be a bit too annoying with his flirtiness even above the likes of Kurz to pervy levels, but that doesn't mean they hate him just don't like his approach to women like when he meets the CA girls for example.

I think it's more that sometimes the characters seem unnecessarily harsh on him for no real reason. He's probably the least offensive character in the cast but sometimes they treat him like he's pure dirt. He does have a tendency to stick his foot in his mouth but that's because as friendly as he acts he's still awkward when it comes to dealing with people because he's forcing himself to do it.

But he does build friendships with several characters. Most notably Maito and Tobia. He has some moments with Kurz and Saburouta too. He gives pep talks to some of the younger pilots like Banagher and Hathaway and they listen to him as well. And when he gets hurt everyone is still worried about him instead of going "fuck that guy".

I'm pretty sure they made him come off as a bit of an outsider on purpose. He straight up tells Nine that he's bad at dealing with people, doesn't drink, and isn't as carefree as he acts. But he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life moping so he tries to enjoy it for his dead teammates and he's going to try his best anyway.

The thing I like both about him and Chitose is that they're both just normal ass people who got caught up in everything and are doing what they can. Even Nine points out that VangRay isn't a super special mech and rather was something she constructed on the spot at first without regard to the pilot which is why it's a bitch and a half to control. Then when she makes the VangNex/Gran Vang they're a lot better because she actually made them with Souji/Chitose in mind.

This incarnation of UC is really weird, but i found interesting how they took so many liberties this time around, one of the most curious is how Zeta is post-plot but the Titans are still around, while Unicorn went for a very different direction to the point that even Full Frontal joins your team.

The most weird was ZZ as how there weren't enough villains, aside from some Neon Zeong remnants, but personally i think it was interesting how they handled Amuro this time around if he is some legend or ghost of the past now revived and seeing what happened after his supposed dead and how affected the axis event affected the world.

The thing about Burning Love is most of those are remakes, things like Link Battler, and - and this is the big thing - relatively low sound quality games. Burning Rage has taken every game since Alpha 3 by itself EXCEPT SC2 and OE. And XO, but remakes, and it's the same theme as OE because music reuse.

Dancouga is really a show that should always have at least two themes just based on the fact that its finisher has a theme, but even ignoring that it has loads of good music that should be usable. Not getting that is shit. Getting show music when the games run OVA plot like in Z2, meanwhile, is pure bullshit. (yeah, Burning Rage did show in God Bless, but that's like saying Sousei no Aquarion is an Aquarion Logos theme because it was in that once.) I could also pinpoint C1 for that, but blaming a Wonderswan game for using the music it did is kind of a low blow - but a PSP game isn't using Wonderswan sound quality.

Also, Burning Rage might be a good theme, but it has a hilariously low loop cycle, the only real way around that being to add the extended intro from the OVA, which they never do. It's like how GC had some really good OG themes that were like 20 seconds long at max - good songs, but unlike CHARGE THE SOUL OF FIGHTERS or whatever you don't listen to them for long periods of time.

tl;dr: I have no problem with Burning Rage as a song, but the way SRW uses it and only it is galling considering it's fucking Dancouga. That'd be like having a J9 with only one song, or a Macross, it's just not do-

Both are pretty eh for OG units but I'd give the overall edge to Nex.

It's not that much weaker than Gran and has better utility thanks to it's MAP attack and range. Also makes a pretty good support attacker. It's attacks also don't use as much EN so you can just plop it down and have it snipe everything from a safe range. It's attacks also don't look that bad even if they are a bit standard, because at least it isn't clipping around the screen like the Gran. Its cut-ins are nice too.

Both pale in comparison to other Reals and Supers in the game and don't have any special systems or abilities that make them stand out. VangNex at least has a MAP for weakening and cleaning up mooks and superior range that lets it provide back-up sniping. There's not a huge difference in the power between their finishers either, and Nex's cost less EN.

Gran Vang doesn't really have anything that makes it stand out when put next to Zero, Great Might Gaine, Shin Getter, Emperor Great, etc.

Yeah, getting aces in this game is really easy thanks to the Proud Ace skill, unless you like to hog all the kills on just a handful of characters that's it.

It's very possible and not that difficult as long as you don't funnel all your kills onto your favorites.

There's a skill you can buy that cuts down the kill count required for Ace to 50 which saves some time. As long as you rotate characters in to get kills and use sub-orders to give kills to the ones you don't deploy you can easily hit 25 aces way before the cut-off point.

I had 23 aces before I hit stage 40.
