it's serviceable, one of its biggest sins though is that the thing starts like a decade after the original series, and that is not the infamous "missing link" special that was more similar in tone with the tv series, so you enter when the despair, hopeless and "humanity at the brink of extinction" feeling of the original tekkaman blade is long gone. if you wanted more of that you will not enjoy it

Yeah. I was talking about this with some friends of mine a while ago, Levin was a genuinely interesting character in his own right. His filler episode gave him a nice bit of background that conveyed his positive attitude towards life without being preachy or overbearing.

In fact, generally I think that was one of the strengths of Tekkaman Blade's writing--most of the important characters were drawn subtly, but well enough that you could really see how they changed over the course of the series. As I often say, I think the way Aki and D-Boy's relationship deepened over time made it one of my favorite /m/echa romances.

The Macguffin of their brothers (Satan Saber, Evil's tek crystal) is what's needed to fight and beat the final big bad.

Both are remakes of Tekkaman. While TB was the actual one, Orgun was the spiritual successor/tribute. In fact, TB's staff actually went out of their trouble to hire Obari to do their OPs, simply because they wanted to emulate Orgun's style.
