What's your honest opinion on Gundam F91?

i enjoyed it, even if the ending felt a tad rushed.

A pretty good 26 episodes OVA.
>>15267131
excellent movie unironically, would have been better if it had more action

Very rushed, but otherwise very entertaining film. Shame it wasn't an OVA series or even a TV series.
I love it, but it's a compilation movie for a show that wasn't made.
I loved it, it was obviously rushed at times but you were still given enough information to understand what was going on, unlike Akira for example
The cosmo babylonia setting is really enticing imo, it would have been cool to see the other two movies that were planned. It's a shame we missed out on Seabook and Zabine's rivalry.

I really like it (but don't tell the other ongoing F91 thread this I'm just being honest in this honesty thread).

Beautiful animation, amazing grunt designs, God-tier Gundam design and a gigantic pity that it was never turned into an actual series, so all that potential gets watered down into a visually impressive but disjointed movie.
I know the glorious animation would have nose-dived if it went to series, but I can't help it. I want a full series. I want the characters and story to be more fleshed out, even if it was only a 26 episode series. As it stands, watching F91 gives me a serious case of blueballs. There's enough to tantalize me, but not enough that I can walk away with a satisfied grin on my face.
But as a movie, 7.5/10

>I know the glorious animation would have nose-dived if it went to series
were there different mecha designs for the tv version
it seems like they would be way too detailed for a tv budget

As Ryu from the hit 1991 arcade game Street Fighter 2 would say
IT'S A PILE OF HADOOKEN!

F91 animated by ufotable given Unlimited Blade Works sized budget
>>15267131
It's great. I wish it had some modern kits, other than the F91 itself.
>>15267991
But Ufotable sucks. They literally use lighting effects to hide how average their animation looks. Their only good looking project would be Kara no Kyoukai.

Depending on how far along in the production they were when they got the news that it was being changed from a TV show to a film (and presumably the budget being adjusted accordingly) then they may not have ever designed the mechs with TV animation in mind. Designs are often simplified to account for that at the end of the process, rather than designed from the ground up to be simple from what I know, and that could be part of the reason why too.
