At this point, there's only a few ways McGillis' side can win without it being complete BS, at least imo. I don't think he can win with his currennt forces unless he lucks something out of his ass. He needs some more forces than what we've already seen. He could deploy a mobile armor to wreck Rustal's fleet, Kudelia comes out of nowhere with significant outside support or an actual revolution like the one we've been promised since season 1 (McGillis' coup d'etat seems mostly internal and we haven't seen actual popular uprising like in Dort) genuinely breaks out across the Earth Sphere since Gjallajorn is too busy civil warring to suppress them as usual. Maybe some combination of the three.

In any case, I think Orga, McGillis and Rustal should die if we want a lasting peace after this conflict. They are too competent, too bloodthirsty and ambitious, and have dedicated followers that are willing to follow them to the grave. Iok can rot in prison for crimes against humanity, he may have a following, but he's too close-minded and incompetent, so just keeping him away from a position of authority and in jail should be enough.

Isurugi, Kudelia and Pompadour Zack are worth being leaders after this conflict is over, since it seems like they are the few who are willing to think and plan things out in the long-term and actually pursue their ideals in this way rather than get caught up in short-term gains and personal ambition like most of the characters tend to do on this show.

Everyone else who survives can chill out on a beach or a corn farm I suppose

You mean forced scenes where, for 0 reason, Yamagi is resting in Shino's lap even though he doesn't need to be and Shino is pulling him in close and forcing physical proximity while playing "dumb" and oblivious? Forced scenes as in the two should have been given way more screentime but they didn't. Forced scenes are scenes where characters trip into each other, fall on each other, where it is unnatural for the situation and unexplained for why two characters suddenly are on top of each other. When you can see there were plenty of other options but you, as a viewer, are just supposed to accept that this is how it is and this is how it goes.

Not really, he has know for Yamagi for a while enough to be intimate with him. He's naturally straightforward dude so of course he has no problem getting into Yamagi's personal space, especially when he's trying to convince him.

All I was looking for were people within each faction who wouldn't jump headfirst without thinking out all of the consequences(Orga, McGillis) or are blatant warmongers who only care about maintaining their own power, the rest of society be damned(Rustal). I would've put someone like Eugene up for the role, but it seems like this season he's completely bought into the rest of Tekkadan's all-or-nothing ideology, even being amongst the ones urging Orga to go into battle a a few episodes back. So since Zack has taken the role and they seem to hint that he's some sort of smart guy, he seems like the peaceful living candidate for Tekkadan leadership. Though on second thought one of the adults like Yukinojo might be able to fit that role.

A guy like McGillis is literally never going to be happy. He will only be satisfied when he's won totally and he is the King of Gjallarhorn, surrounded only by yes-men. But then we've seen how he is pretty much a totally cold bastard who has slain everybody who loves him except Almiria, and that might only be because she's a child. He will kill even his loyalists because there will be nobody he can trust enough. Just look at Gaelio and Carta. They would have died for him, supported him unconditionally, and he still fucked them over because nobody can be allowed to get too close.

He is also delusional and believes all he needs is MUH BAEL and he can return Gjallarhorn to a golden age based on what's written in some book. How is he going to handle the disillusionment when it hits him that that shit stopped being relevant 300 years ago and in reality MUH BAEL only gets you so far? How will he manage the whole world alone? How bad will he freak out when things don't go according to plan, when he can't manipulate everybody, when people start rising against him instead of falling in line? He'll go full megahitler or be completely broken.

McGillis has certainly made mistakes this season, especially with muh Bael, but that's not directly tied into his leadership style, but a combination of being baited by Rustal into playing his cards too soon and overestimating the abilities of Gundam frames and especially Tekkadan, as a result of Tekkadan repeatedly beating ridiculous odds and doing legendary feats. That's why the MA appears and why McGillis only begins to talk about old Gjallajorn and Agnika Kaieru after seeing what Tekkadan pulls off. Doesn't help that it's only these last few episodes that Orga tries to manage expectations about what their limits are as an organization, whereas for most of season 2, Tekkadan acts and promotes a reputation that they can do anything. McGillis would've went with a longer-term strategy by waiting after he married Almiria and took the Baudoin family, but he got too overconfident from observing Tekkadan. If he really thought all he needed was Bael, he wouldn't have betrayed Carta and Gaelio to get access to their family's resources. Carta had a crush on McGillis but there is no indication that she would've went along with his revolution, as she was symbolic of the problems McGillis hated and wanted to purge from Gjallajorn. The way he sees it is that Gjallajorn is supposed maintaining peace and justice, but has turned to maintaining its own power, so that the Seven Stars can pursue their own frivolties instead of focusing on the Gjallajorn's started mission. It is because McGillis wants this new ideological reform that he is professional and remains distant. Whether its Carta and Izanario creating harems or Gali looking for friendship/understanding, they both represent a lack of dedication to Gjallajorn's original goals in favor of personal frivolties. He doesn't want spoiled brats who are only in it because they have a relationship with him, he wants dedicated soldiers to their cause. That's why Isurugi berates Gali for wanting a sentimental realtionship.

There are things they've been foreshadowing that need to see a payoff or risk failing all expectations. We need to see whether Bael actually has some kind of hidden ability to turn this massive tide of battle back towards Tekkadan, or we need to see Mika sell the rest of himself over to Barbatos to try and achieve a miracle.

Neither seems like a particularly viable solution at this point, but I can see the latter happening. Mika was rocking the death flags just as hard as Shino was in the lead up episode, and we haven't seen Barbatos fight at full capacity since the Mobile Armor battle. If there was ever a time when their backs were completely against the wall and in need of some soul-selling to seize victory, it would be now.

Daily reminder that it's pretty obvious now the way this is going to end.

Mika is going to fuck Atra off-screen while attached to Barbatos before he eventually dies once the series reach the end.
And because Mika was plugged into Barbatos while fucking Atra, their kid will have a natural compatibility with piloting a Gundam without needing the Allah-Vagina system.
Then on the final episode they will show us a time-skip where Atra is all grown up and we will see Hush training a young kid that just happens to look a lot like Mika, to insure that Tekkadan lives on should anything come to disturb these now peaceful days.

And also In case you aren't aware, Bael and Barbatos are sister units and the only two Gundams to have been built by Agnika's father. All the other Frames were built by Agnika himself.
Hence it's also pretty obvious that Bael is getting destroyed in a extremely anti-climatic way because the entire legend was nothing but a ruse.
Barbatos is the one who actually holds Agnika's soul and Choco was too much of a fool to have realized this.

The dainslief penetrated enough to damage the ship but they didn't come anywhere come to shooting through the Hotarubi. You can literally see the warheads get stuck on the hull when the Dainslief team fires.

Shino probably could've just hide behind the Dainslief all the way to the fleet and gotten a much better shot in (but then die). Point is, the ship was more than durable enough to withstand the dainslief and Shino could've easily escaped or just turtled.
