New Original Polimar for the movie
>>15263645
Sakamoto, eh?
>>15263645
Let me guess, Mikie Hara is playing her role.
>>15263647
>>15263645
>>15263647
She reminds me of leviathan

Based
Sakamoto is the Spielberg of tokusatsu. He knows what the people wants and gives it to us!

>legs for days shown off at every opportunity
>clearly prefers kicks
>skirt-suit and glasses or leather and fingerless gloves
>is definitely going to get really sweaty
Yep, this is definitely a Sakamoto movie.

>New Original Polimar for the movie
Japanese low cost live action adapations of anime material are considered to be crimes against humanity.
>>15263645
The name is Polimar Artemis
What's the general consensus on the original series and the OVA from the 90s?
>>15264717
Original: Scooby Doo meets Bruce Lee wrapped up in a Tatsunoko superhero show package. It's pretty fun overall.BD rips never.
OVA: Edgy as fuck, but it has nice animation and designs.
>>15263664
gravure idol?
Isn't there a cut of the first few episodes of Polimar that's just every time he screams?
>>15264773
> Is Miki Hara a gravure idol
Jesus man, pay attention!
>>15264773
She also played Cutie Honey.
>>15264760
>OVA
Also, it's unfinished.
>>15264349
At least it can't be as bad as Yatterman's, Devilman's or even Casshan's.
>>15265371
Yatterman's live action was decent though.
>>15265376
Fair, although one needs to know about the sex jokes going in (because Miike). That said, I forgot to mention the Gatchaman movie.
I am perfectly okay with all of this.

http://tokusatsunetwork.com/2017/02/mikie-haras-polymar-costume-revealed/
>Mikie Hara’s costume has been revealed to be a sexy Polymar suit. She will portray a character named Rei Hieta, an original character in the movie. The suit is called the Polymar Artemis, whose chest is wide open and boldly exposes the thighs. Hara said she had to oil up her legs because Sakamoto has a leg fetish and there’s a lot of focus on legs in the action shots. The suit was made to be stylish and sexy above all else; it’s hard to move in once worn.
Yup, it's Sakamoto alright.
>>15265371
>even Casshan's.
I liked Casshern though
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDbp10TYAWA
granted this was like the one good scene
>>15266863
Casshern didn't make the tiniest bit of sense but it looked great.
>>15266863
the scene after the battle is pure, unfiltered kino

The ova from the nineties is an example of a remake made very well. Toei took everything that worked in the original and improved on it.
The animation was excellent, the music also. The real downside to the ova is that it's over after 2 freaking episodes. Toei should have made many more but somehow chickened out.
The original series is your standard 1970s japanese super hero anime show. Formulaic to the extreme. Although it had good animation when polymar transforms and combats his enemies. The story is ok and it sure beats the classic single guy going against aliens invading tokyo trope.

Hey Honey! Can I have your body?

also they have a great cost-saving routine where he beats the shit out of bad guys by hitting them (with the same animation) over and over in rapid succession, which combined with his screaming makes Polymar look mostly like a psycho killer and it's great
Will she die in the opening by having her spine kicked in half?
>>15266956
I mean he basically was. It wasn't just trying to save on animation, even in the first episode he beats the living the hell out of everyone he can get his hands on in surprisingly decently animated fashion for the time.
>>15267066
>surprisingly decently animated fashion for the time.
That's old!Tatsunoko for you. Gatchaman also had some standout moments, most notably the Turtle King ep.
>>15264790
>>15264833
>ywn marry Miki Hara
Why live?
>>15267193
I still can't believe the same girl that played Honey in the The Live was Sweaty Tits from the fourze movie, it's like all she had to do was not smile and she was a complete different person to me.
>>15267205
>Sweaty Tits
Who?
>>15266898
>The original series is your standard 1970s japanese super hero anime show. Formulaic to the extreme
Eh, I'd say it was actually an anomaly among Tatsunoko superhero shows during the 70s. It didn't take itself seriously but it also wasn't a part of the Time Bokan series.
>>15267222
>>15267222
SWEATY
TITS
>>15267238
Amusingly enough, Time Bokan did its own self-parody of Polymar via the lead of Yattodetaman.
>>15267257
Oh I guess she was pretty sweaty
Also
>malaysian bugman movies have better fight choreography and stuntmen than hollywood action flicks
>>15266863
What if Casshern got the Sakamoto treatment?
>>15267452
>Luna with legs for days
That'd be something, the OVA version was already hotter.
Meanwhile, a famous wrestler plays Braiking Boss.
>>15267346
Caring about fight choreography costs money, which would cut into Hollywood's precious profits.
>>15267245
>>15267257
They were more of Oily Tits to me
>>15267273
Well shit, they're even both voiced by Kazuyuki Sogabe.
>>15267257
meh
>>15269154
Literally perfect. It's that smile more than anything.
