Well Big O in Z1 has 3 of its weapons - all belong to the debuting Second Season - secrets, so I have no problem with Bamco going this way to increase the number of secrets.
It's just that thw requirements seems very casualized now, as in "Ace A and defeat B with A" tier, and that's a big step down from Z1 and UX system when you have to consider carefully which one to get and how to trigger the flag.

Zeon will be working together with Dorsia Zaft, etc, Alantic Rim will be hanging out with Titans, etc, with the Jior kids joining the ragtag collection of protagonists. The actual gameplay will be identical to all SRW games, and the various design problems of the VVVs will just be mentioned, and not come up in gameplay. Haruto will be playable, probably Saki, and the rest of the VVVs would only show up during attacks, or cutscenes like Godannar's mechs.

Haven't gotten that far yet. Only on stage 23 or so. I assume their roles get flipped depending on who you pick in the beginning. Souji ended up leaving Chitose with a guy named Tatsu in the Might Gaine world so she would be safe but then he and the crew end up Boson Jumping to a different world and leaving her behind so now he's trying to find a way to get back to her.

Well to be fair. In universe they are supposed to be super weapons created to solo fleets by themselves, they are just easily dealt with since their weakness is heat, one of the most common things in the universe. They seem extremely weak since you can take one down with strategy and a curling iron.

As for people who say since the ugly anti-VVV mechs introduced in season two can defeat VVVs so easily, that makes the VVVs garbage, I think that's kind of an unfair argument. That's like saying Celestial Being gundams are weak, since GN Drives were introduced. The Kirshbaums were reverse engineered from VVV tech for the sole purpose of destroying VVVs. Before then the VVVs could only be disabled, and it took the introduction of weapon that shot holes in mountains to destroy the VVVs. Before then you had to rely on weapons like the boomerangs which were built to capture mechs, exploit the heat weakness, or just hammer on a VVV for a long time before it started showing damage, like the Waffe did with the prone VVV.

That said, I think SRW would just ignore the time limit for game play purposes, and treat the VVVs like any other gundam, and the only VVV we'd see would be Haruto's (and maybe Saki's) so the the other VVVs being shit really wouldn't be a factor.
