For /m/, history has been a tricky devil. From winning a Babby to placing third in the Summer Cup, it looked to be poised that /m/ would crash and burn in Winter and head back to Spring. However the team decided to buck tradition and punch their ticket to the Round of 16 with a draw over /w/. Their first opponent on this winter conquest; last year's winter champs /fit/, who muscled past a failing /out/ to try and repeat. It's a daunting task but the mechs are no stranger to hard work and GUTS. Will /fit/ send the mechs back to the squat rack or will /m/ make it brah?

Sorry /m/en. I tried to be patient and let the team work it's way back, but eventually I felt the need to add more offense and it just made things worse. Tests against /fit/ were too even for me to not take risks given they scored early. Char showed some real spirit in tests too, I just wished it worked out better.

As for a post-mortem, I think our biggest mistake was before the cup export deadline. We spent a lot of time running tests in the background, but there were so many that I couldn't muster the energy to actually watch as many as I should have. So even though the 4-1-4-1 did well by the numbers, without watching enough games I couldn't get a sense of how they worked and every match was a scramble trying to create a plan A. It felt a lot like our PES15 cups actually, though fortunately the result was worlds better. In fact, next cup will be the first Spring ever without /m/.

But now we've got some time to rest, and we can analyze the top teams from Winter and Spring. We'll come up with some tactics that show off our spirit. So enjoy the rest of Winter and Spring!
