Really? I remember Combattler being decent in Alpha Gaiden due to how retarded using long range weapons at point blank was, but outside of that it has always felt underwhelming. Dancougar always felt like a better boss killing unit.

I mean, the 2nd half of Combattler was completely episodic. Watch the first 2 episodes then skip to the last 3 and you don't miss anything. No development, no upgrades, nothing.

That said, I thought Voltes' V cast was really boring, so I prefer Combattler in spite of its weak main plot.
