So Gaelio has the same thoughts about cleaning up Gjallarhorn and taking out the corruption that McGillis has right?

Is there any possibility that he doesn't end up as the one who actually becomes the "leader" figure of the organization once all this is over and fixes everything, in place of McGillis?

Think about it, if he "wins", he'd be the big hero, back from the dead to take down the big bad usurper and reclaim his place in the world. The one who beat Bael, the legendary Gundam (unless Mika does his thing and gets the kill as always, assuming they actually turn on McGillis at some point / gets betrayed / told to do something unspeakable).

There's even a sort of save the princess vibe to it all, because of his sister being in McGillis clutches (even if it is willingly, the public wouldn't really know), and his knight motif which he is now returning to as well with Kimaris Vidar.

When will Iznario die?

I think the main problem is just Mika's behavior in this series. He acts very robotic compared to most other characters. He kissed Kudelia just cause "well, you looked cute" He follows Orga for not much reason at all. So when he hugs Atra, it just feels like he's acting on cues rather than spontaneously feeling emotions like a normal person. Given the fact that he seemed to not understand the implications of kissing Kudelia on a whim or just casually asking Atra if she wanted to make a kid with him, I have to wonder if he even understands the concept of love or if it's just some strange yet interesting human thing he has some desire to study and experiment with. And Atra's character is basically just look concerned all the time, make lunch and fawn over how amazing Mika and Kudelia are.

It didn't go away after that one time, and there's been evidence he felt something about it since S1. All this shit needs to be addressed though, because as things currently are, all of this serves zero purpose. McGillis caring about Gali is the only way him not checking to make sure Gali really died makes sense too, considering how fastidious he was about everything else leading up to piloting Bael.

All of those scenes of McGillis seemingly feeling regret have to be building up to something like this, and it felt suspect that Gali and Carta were glossed over during McGillis' flashback.

If this was a show with consistent, good writing, I wouldn't worry about this at all, but it's Okada. Although I thought she actually did a good job building up to the revelation of McGillis' background, so I want to believe she's building up to something here too. But I won't hold my breath.

One thing that really bugged me last episode was McGillis talking to Mika about the AV. To me, it was like he was saying this.

My interpretation of their reunion scene was that McGillis "moved on," accepted that he had tried to kill the person closest to him. He put all reservatons behind him for good. This. For Gali to survive, not only did Choco have to screw up the coup de grace, but he also had to be negligent in checking Gaelio died. That's a lot of negligence on McGillis part. I always thought it was a freudian slip. An error in his actions that is indicative of an internal conflict that didn't reach his conscious mind. If anything, Orga has been Tekkadan's groomed dog since Biscuit's death. The show has been pretty non-subtle about this, especially as of late.

That whole heroic, Kamina-light persona he exhibited in Edmonton was not a good thing. Instead of being a good leader, a smart leader, he's trying to be the leader Tekkadan wants him to be. He's trying to give Tekkadan what they want, and that has continued on into this season as he's reaching for a throne he doesn't want because that's what expected of him by the group.

Unless Orga takes Isaribi out along with any fleets, which we obviously won't get since he's way less expendable than Eugene, I really wonder how they're even going to remotely have an advantage in this battle. Hotarubi seems useless as it will just be a sitting duck with everyone and everything on it, therefore can't take any risks with it. With Orga piloting Isaribi, it feels like it's guaranteed safe, and if it isn't, he'll get out in time by some asspull.

Eugene hasn't really been retarded in S2, more like nonexistent and thrown on a bus. The most important thing he could do would be to die and he won't even do that.

Zack's random intelligence he came out with in the Hashmal arc didn't really do much in the end, neither did him voicing opposition other than to help the narrative with Eugene and Nadi on how Tekkadan pushed Orga to a certain point. Just as Eugene was ignored all throughout season 1 whenever he protested anything, Zack's couple of attempts have amounted to jack shit. Tekkadan's writing sucks even worse this season.
