Basically the two budgets dictate which materials are used on the suits. Riders are usually made out of shiny lycra/latex (undersuit) and foam rubber/plastic (armor) while the monsters are normally all foam rubber.

You can tell Abyss was paid for out of the monster suit budget due to the entire suit being foam rubber. You probably couldn't tell in-show, but upon closer inspection it's clear as day, most noticeably in the chestpiece. Notice how they used airbrushing to make the details look more 3D?

The issue with Tsurugi was more like Kabuto's two writers clashing with each other. Inoue wrote him mostly as a serious character, but pretty much only wrote his introduction and then his finale, while Yonemura wrote him as comic relief and wrote most episodes that had some focus on him. Yonemura was supposed to be the main writer, but Inoue was coming from year of success back then, so he had enough power to do something like that.

The guide is full of shit and outdated. Skyrider is finished, someone just released the Kitsubs unreleased subs via alternate means. Super-1 was also done by XIG, and he doesn't use crabsticks, but the JPN captions. He also just finished the original series. X has 18 episodes of crabsticks only.

TVN subs are flawed, but not HK level bad. However, better versions are something people want. Now groups can focus on those.

as we look back on Kamen Rider, for the most part we can see how much content has changed, Even now Sentai can't match, but as we look into the past for a long while when it came to Kamen Rider, each season (post Kuuga) only really ever had:
-Main Series
-1 movie
-1 Hyper Battle dvd
HBD had always been some kind of joke and Movies for the longest time had no influences on the main series as they were either an alternate ending or just AU in general. So for the most part, we only just had the tv series.

It wasn't until the climax wouldn't shut up that we started to get something a bit more, and over the next five years that Kamen Rider Den-O would receive seven more movies added onto their normal summer movie (total 8), and while 1 was AU (Climax Deka) and the other was a celebratory of the franchise and really didn't have much to do with the actual show (Let's Go Kamen Rider) and it had much more content then we got at that time.

Then Decade appeared with the Winter Movies, which every year since then add two winter movies for every season, which going by what's been going on for the past 2 years, they will be proper crossover films.

W after it's series introduced us to the Post-series V-Cinema (probably because Sentai Returns did so well) and sadly didn't do so well as the Post series movies didn't return until Kamen Rider Gaim (I would have loved a Meteor Returns)
