MG once you're fully aware of how to build
Only get PG if you're going to do a legit paint/effect job, as they're pretty pricey and will look dull and boring otherwise.
Tamiya tool set is safest bet, Mr.Color for hand painting or Tamiya spray paints. Also flat mat top coat.
