No it does not fix the stock footage re-use, there is in fact NEW stock footage.

There are 2 versions of the Seed and Seed Destiny Remaster.

One is the broadcast/streaming version, the other is the BD remaster

If you watch the version on youtube or a streaming site or the TV rip it is incomplete. During production process they re-drew a few new scenes and sequences, but left a lot of crop and zoom. This was done so they could get the new version up on streaming and on broadcast tv. Like typical anime production fashion, in the BD they went back and inserted a metric SHIT ton of new scenes to get rid of the crop and zoom that plagued the initial version. The result is a lot of the cropping and zooming problems people complained about were dramatically reduced and a lot of NEW NEW NEW scenes were made.

It's important to take the rough with the smooth.
Watching SEED and Destiny lets you appreciate just how much better everything else is.

I'm watching SEED right now and I just gotta say that it had the potential to be something really great.
The backbone, the actual plot is pretty good. I especially liked the reveal that Lacus only acted like a moron to hide the fact she was the leader of a splinter cell.
However everything in between, shit like character interaction, is straight up ass. I particularly hate the interaction between the primary cast of teenagers.
The constant abuse of flashback footage and stock animation makes it a chore to watch. It's slow in a bad way.

SEED and Destiny aren't even in the bottom 3 anymore though. They're mostly inoffensive compared to Wing, AGE, G-Reco, IBO, The Origin.

Destiny's got a permanent place as the second worst series, by my standards.
AGE is only #1 because it commits the worst sin of all: being boring.

I think that Wing and G-Reco are both good series, however.
Geopolitics and the role of soldiers in a post-conflict society are both interesting topics and Wing handled it well.
G-Reco had pacing issues but looked and sounded absolutely superb. It just needed more episodes. I wasn't sure who the villain was, or even if there WAS a villain.

IBO's good so far but only by the saving grace of s2 being a vast improvement over s1.
I have not read or watched any of The Origin.

The original (or the DVD release). Cropping a 4:3 picture into 16:9 is fucking stupid because the show wasn't originally framed this way, and no amount of new footage (short of reanimating the entire series from scratch) will ever disguise its age and make it appear more "modern".

Funimation tried the same retarded logic on their Dragon Ball Z season sets and they look like complete ass.

See, being boring is why I would put G-Reco, IBO, and Wing at the bottom. I don't even need nonstop action, I just need to *feel something*. If I'm watching a show and I end up essentially just staring at the screen for 20 minutes at a time, I think that's a bad thing.
