Why is ECOAS Jegan so sexy?

I'm a staunch moderate in a sea of radical madness and I prefer the Federation simply because Zeon is entirely run by crazy people whereas at least a chunk of the Federation is reasonable enough to think gassing colonies and dropping them on other people is pretty rude

I don't really see that since most of the time we get Zeon threads, they're full of stale /pol/ memes. Not to mention one pf the most ardent Zeon defenders on this board, Black_Knight is a literal Nazi.

And its definitely not the case in Japan, where eaxh new Gundam entry is even more Zeon apologist and shits on the Federation even more than the last. It's kind of clear that UC Gundam nowadays is being used as a vehicle by right wing wankers for their thinly veiled 'Impeeial Japan did nothing wrong' fantasies.

Center-rightfag here, I despise Zeon.
It's kinda interesting, but Zeon/Zanscare/Space Revolutionary Army types appeal greatly to the fringes of both left and right ideologies.

This is just my anecdotal experience (though going by discussions on /m/ it seems to be a fairly common occurrence), but many of my "minority" friends tend to gravitate towards Zeon, and as evidenced by posts on this board, you have the alt-right types making use of Zeonic iconography and venerating anarcho-terrorists like Char and Haman.
I think you're confusing the right-leaning people that like the Federation with right-leaning reactionaries, who would probably be opposed to big nebulous OWG.
Right and left minded statists (and most center-left/right types usually fall under some degree of statist inclinations) would both find common ground in the Federation.

Finally, most /m/ users, outside of Jovian shills, know that the Federation would likely be the strongest bulwark against the true Red Menace.

This, honestly. Whenever someone says they find the idea of the Federation building so many different mobile suits in a few months unbelievable, what they don't realize is that they didn't. That's the beauty of the GM; all the variants are just different applications of about three separate but extremely similar frames. Same goes for the Gundams, for the most part.

I'm a centrist, and despite finding nothing reasonable about Zeon ideology, I just love the Zeon mobile suit aesthetic. Nothin wrong with a little roleplaying outsite my personal political ideology. I think it's incorrect label fans of one faction or the other based on the faction's ideology, there's plenty of reasons to like a faction besides politics.

Those two are the RGM-79F and RGM-79FD.

The F type is meant for desert use and has protective covers on the joints. It can carry a railgun cannon and has reactive armor tiles. The FD type is basically the same machine but has extra thrusters that allow itself to reach high speeds like the Dom and Mudrock Gundam.

That's fine and sensical and all and I love me some GMs but from an aesthetics and toyetic perspective Feddie offerings are pretty stale since they're all basically more or less the same while Zeek groups have more variance to them.
