>Spider mecha are real
Tachikoma when?
I want to see a mech anime that's like the book Team Yankee (or World in Conflict), but with all the crazy proposals from the 80s taken to the extreme. Hovercraft platforms for launching fighters from damaged airfields. F-16s and A-10s using pods of "brilliant" tank hunting missiles. M-X missiles being based in a massive shell game using a high-speed rail system in the desert, and on modified 747 and C-5 aircraft that launch drop them out the tail end. "Strategic defense" battleships designed with blended hull features to survive nearby nuclear detonations. The B-1R Heavy Interceptor. Nuclear shaped charges being used to power lasers to shoot down satellites.
>>15228403
The AGM-124 Wasp brilliant missile. Basically it would have replaced the AGM-65 in the anti-armor role, because a single pod carried 12 radar guided missiles that would automatically each attack a different target, the idea being that a A-10 or F-16 could just pop up over a hill and volley off a couple pods, wiping out enemy armored units before they could react. The missiles actually did work, despite a incident during testing where a missile locked onto a car driving down a highway 50 miles away from the test range, but the program was killed by the Reagan administration for being too expensive. Ironically if it had entered service, the A-10 would still be viable as a anti-armor aircraft.

The shell game M-X basing scheme was dumb. You want to go lulzy M-X basing schemes look at the deep basing schemes. You don't need to run a complicated shell game if your missile's shelter can take a direct hit from a 100 MT warhead.
>>15228423
It wouldn't be anymore viable than an F-16 or F-15E which would be able to carry a similar number of them. The problem with using PGM to justify keeping the Warthog as a tank killer is the fact that you can fit those same PGMs onto any other fighter and have the same capability.
>>15228480
747 Cruise Missile Carrier would be a better option for weaponizing a 747. One aircraft would have carried anywhere from 80-100 ALCMs.

Testors came out with a 1/48 model kit of the Stealth Fighter in 1986 before the real F-117 design was revealed

Testors stuck a pair of standard-issue vertical stabilizers on its 1/48-scale model and packaged it up.
