The strange thing about this series is that the ostensible protagonists don't really have a plot arc.

Like, now we're heading into the final arc, it's Gali who has the most investment in the story. It's about him v.s. McGillis. Tekkadan are just these goons - they're the equivalent of the druggie trio in Gundam Seed, sort of a speedbump for the actual protagonist.

I dunno, the narrative is all over the place.

Rustal is more like a father, though. His kid is the whole organization. If Iok does something reckless, is not entirely his fault because Iok is one of the Seven Stars and he has some idependency, but Elion has to be there to clean the mess in order to protect their own men and Gjallarhorn as whole.

Show dropped focus on them. Nobliss is still alive, possibly setting up more conflicts for profit (as seen by Vidar's debut fight), as well as profiting off of the half-metal deal. Kudelia, as well as other activists, still need him for money.

Makanai had the assassination attempt to start the war, but he survived with no seen fallout. Tekkadan's ineffectiveness in leading Arbrau troops is never brought up, and the show tries to make him look better by having him relieved Chad didn't die protecting him (despite him threatening Tekkadan into being his bodyguards last season). Kudelia though rejects his offer to make her his heir, and notes that his concern for Chad seems out of character.

It isn't much of a theme really, the show has no real message about that subject it is just what happens. With that you could say robots are the theme.

It isn't even consistent if that is good or bad cause the orphans are in a better position than they were before, if they had stayed put they'd be basically slave merchs and if they didn't fight at all they'd be starving child whores. At best you can try really hard to make it look like there has been some change in character, but at best you can do that by ignoring some scenes while focusing on others (which mainly amount to they got angry about something).
