Gjallarhorn is the defacto ruler of Earth, Mars and everything in between. They have a monopoly on military power and are the arbitrators of nations and all other powerful political entities. Gjallarhorn created the world order and maintains it. Rustal is the most powerful member of the seven starts which in turn makes him the most powerful person in the solar system. Technically he's right, but that's because McGillis is a psychopath. He's aware of, but has 0 regard, for the wellbeing or emotions of other people.

Mika actually cares about his family and just has some sociopathic tendencies, but is still able to empathize with others if it comes to that. And really, Mika relies on a strong sense of belonging and values (kill the people who hurt his family) that enables his sociopathic tendencies, so you could say he's not a true sociopath at all, at least no more than a religious zealot. In other words, his passion is what allows him to be a monster.

McGillis on the other hand is only capable of holding his beliefs because he's a natural psychopath who has zero empathy for others and basically has no regard for the world, other than how he can manipulate it to gain power. His fucked up childhood alone isn't enough to justify his personality and in fact even as a child he had a fixation on gaining personal power and a strong sense of utility that let him stay calm in any situation. And of course, ease of lying to anyone (the mask, a 2nd mask for deceiving Gaelio), ease of violence, calm under what should be duress, basically no friends, and almost no regard for risk. He's also a narcissist, considering he basically believes he alone can be like Agnika.

That's actually something that confused me a lot a couple of episodes back. The Dainsleif are supposed to be so scary because they're a mobile suit-scale weapon that can harm ships. They even explicitly say that normally there's not much an MS can do to a warship. So why deploy mobile suits in space combat at all? I mean, sure, if one gets in real close they can smash up your bridge, like Mikazuki likes to, but that's got to be a pretty uncommon occurrence. Mobile suits dominate space warfare in most Gundam settings because they can pack enough firepower that together with their mobility they can get around a ship's point defenses and take them out, like an analogy to how aircraft carriers changed naval warfare. But if they can't, shouldn't they be a predominantly land combat weapon?

One of the things you gotta remember things in the current setting aren't the same as back in the Calamity War. Sure the Dainsleif is illegal NOW, but back when MSs were invented they weren't, and space combat was probably Dainsleif armed MSs picking off warships while conventionally armed MSs hunt down Dainsleif units of the other side while defending their own.

In the end it comes down to Vidar dunking it out with McGillis in Bael anyway. If Gaelio really wanted to avoid revenge he could've acted before he gained resources. Then it would mostly count as a regular and impersonal act of the judical system. They could have had the same confrontation with McGillis already behind bars but then there would be no show and no drama. In the end Gaelio opted for revenge route, something he would have always done don't fool ourselves. By postponing it he only made it more elaborate and personal. Though I guess he also had to wait for his "gundam with the special system designed for killing McGillis in the most satisfying way" finished.

In season one Orga was more in his element. He was commanding his troops in an attempt to firmly establish his PMC, becoming the leader he wanted to be through his situation.

The problem is Season 2 is him and Tekkadan are in over their heads in worlds they don't understand. Orga joins the mob but doesn't play mob politics, resulting in him making enemies within Teiwaz as he pushed himself and Naze through the ranks. Tekkadan are given a leadership position in Arbrau because of their success in season one, but didn't leave anyone with actual leadership experience to run things and their attitude ends up alienating supposed allies. We can go through the second season and find all kinds of these examples.

They're more like Michael Scott IMO. Scott is a fantastic salesman but was terrible at management. That's Tekkadan in a nutshell this season.

The problem with that is that MS are not useless against ships. They may not be as super effective against ships as those in UC, but we have seen them damage ships and they can probably also take them out of action completely.

You'd have thought that you'd remember Mika taking out the bridge on the PMC Thrust ship seeing how it was only in the episode before last. In S1 during the first encounter with the Turbines Mika had to come back and defend the Isaribi after Lafter snuck up on them in her MS. The Gusion also caused some damage during the second battle with the Brewers and probably would have been able to disable the Isaribi had Mika not intervened.

It seems that the Ein system basically acts as a processor, absorbing the sensory overload that comes from being connected fully to the AV and feeding information to the pilot as well as giving them stuff like enhanced reflexes and awareness. It still needs a pilot to control the mech as well as see what's happening out there. In effect Gaelio is still mostly piloting but there is a powerful AI assisting him and he's able to tap into its faster-than-human reactions and decision making.
