Oh yeah, you missed barely anything. People were calling StarNinger the savior of the season but then even he turned kinda bland. Basically Blue and Pink's focus episodes were the best parts of the show, and I guess also some of the western yokai episodes that weren't about the plotpoint of StarNinger becoming a werewolf which got dropped.

This post may be a bit long winded so bear with me or dont read its no big deal.

The episode one hate for Lucky in Kyuranger is pretty unreasonable and whiney. The trolls who do it arent really fans of sentai to begin with.

In the show when he would yell Yosha Luckyyy it was appropriate and lived up to the preshow advertisement hype of him being the luckiest guy in the universe.

Starting from his debut on screen he gets a radio fortune announcement of the area he's flying in . Thats a lucky coincidence for him.

Before he crashed into a planet many civilians and the 3 kyurangers were trapped and Lucky's crash created a path for rescuing the civilians safely thats a lucky break for not only the innocent civilians but the outnumbered rangers.

He obviously had ambitions of being a hero/adventurer and ran into three of them by a lucky chance encounter after the crash.

Just going from those three examples we can see the character was well thought out and not just a dumb Takaharu clone as some trolls have called him in here

Its no problem if people don't like the show as much as I do but its episode one premier and trolls are going above and beyond to shit on the Red and Kyuranger in general with just one episode.

People are equating him to Takaharu because he just won't stop shouting his catchphrase in an extremely forced way which Takaharu did constantly, not because the character is 1:1. To do it so many times in a single episode is irritating as all hell and if you aren't irritated by it after Takaharu you must have the patience of a saint. Seriously, you can make a drinking game with how many times the phrase "Yossha Lucky" is said in episode 1 alone.

To shit on the entire series because of him is wrong, sure, but at the same time we already had to deal with an idiot shouting his catchphrase constantly in a season and people don't want to suffer through that again so it's understandable the hate Lucky is getting even if, as a character, he's not Takaharu and he can act far better than him as well.

I haven't seen Ninninger so I can't claim that Lucky is a Takaharu clone but I still dislike the character thus far.

The closest comparison that I could make is that he reminds more of Right who had a reason for acting like he did (i.e. the impulsive "I'm going to go and battle yay me!!!" bit)

I don't think Kyuranger could pull the same thing as Toqger to explain those antics.

In order for Yosha Luckyyy to be "irritating as all hell" in episode One you have to already not be engaged by the show so much that you ignore the context of Lucky yelling the catchphrase and how him being excited about his luck belongs in the story.

Every time he did it not only was it appropriate but the show made fun of itself by having Garu cut him off mid catchphrase when Lucky thought he could claim the Blue Kyutama.

I'm not using Yamato's eagle vision to notice these things I'm just watching and Enjoying the show. The real problem with some of you guys is that you're actually Bored with Sentai and you're afraid to admit it but its easier to nitpick the show.

Your boredom with Sentai is shining through your hyper criticism of non issues in the show instead of actually being entertained and having a fun time watching.

imo the YOSSHA LUCKYYYYY is just childish, repeating it eight times is super annoying but I'm sure it'll die down to once per episode.

What really irritates me is how self-centred he appears to be. Obnoxious cunts I can stand, I'm one of the few people who actually liked Takaharu, but he just comes across as very rude and uncaring towards other people's feelings (or belongings, apparently). Garu was totally in the right to kick his ass. I hope it's just an introductory LOOK HOW COOL THIS RED IS thing and not going to be a regular part of his character. Confidence is one thing, conceit is completely another.

I am engaged and enjoying him as a character who rushes headfirst at things and drags everyone else along, I just don't care about his catchphrase being said for everything. The context behind him shouting it doesn't make it any less irritating or makes me more engaged in the show, it just pisses me off. Once or twice an episode, fine, I can deal with it and that's his quirk, but over everything going your way? In the same shrill tone Takaharu conveyed his lines as? It just makes me want to cover my ears every time he speaks, not sit on the edge of my seat waiting to hear him shout more because everything is going his way.

No, you don't. You take it at face value, it's a guy shouting his catchphrase over everything that happens to him. There's no problem with the Champ conversation as an example where they just talk about how fortunate they all are to meet up with each other in a calm tone, I don't need to hear you shouting it.

I have no problems with Spada, Champ, or Garu, they're great, it's just Lucky that drives me up a wall, he's just annoying when he speaks, he's far better when he's not speaking and just fighting, his transformation is amazing just an example.

Yeah, that's more what I meant. I like Tsukasa and Tendou for example, they're "self-centred because everything works his way anyway" types that work for me their personalities are very cool and calm as opposed to the hot-blooded hero archetype. Self-centred and hot-blooded as WELL as self-righteous is a recipe for an irritating asshole. Maybe it's just how I've been brought up, but heroes (as opposed to antiheroes) that lack any social graces really grind my gears.

But anyway, I think it's Garu who should have waited an episode or so to transform. They could have spent a little more time building up his courage. Like showing him all the worlds that are suffering, "do you want the same thing that happened to your family to happen to all these people too? Don't you want to fight with us? Look, Lucky joined!" sort of thing. Gotta have the red in the first episode after all.
