What are the best "lesser known" /m anime from the 80's?
>>
Delpower X Bakuhatsu Miracle Genki

>the best
Oh. Then whichever ones you enjoy, OP.
>>
>>15195416
I realize the term "best" is subjective. I should have said "noteworthy".
>>
Goshogun. It's semi-notorious for being part of the mashup that was Macron 1, and avoiding complete subs. A riot on its own, as it doesn't take itself too seriously.
>>
>>15195404
>obscure
>Megazone 23
>>
>>15195536
If it's not Gundam it's obscure
>>
Its definitely not 'best' but Ladius was pretty solid. Its mostly a sci-fi adventure OVA, with an Obari-as-fuck fight at the end. I miss those kind of shows.

>look up the credits
>Obari wasn't involved

what
>>
>>15195549
If you know nothing about anime, maybe. Megazone 23 was a smash hit and pretty much launched the 80s OVA boom, it's anything but "obscure". Stop trying to make a sekrit club.
>>
>>15195746
I think it was sarcasm, Anon.
>>
>>15195416
>>15195700
cool, I will check these out ASAP - love discovering new shit to watch
>>
>>15195404
Legacium and Cybernetic Guardians
>>15195532
>Goshogun subs never
SOMEONE MAKE A PETITION FOR DISCOTEK ALREADY!
>>
Vifam.
>>
>>15196198
I could see maybe Legaciam, but would you really consider Cybernetics Guardian obscure, necessarily? I mean, Ohata isn't exactly a small name.
>>
>>15196221
>I mean, Ohata isn't exactly a small name.
Who?
>>15196211
Good luck finding it uploaded anywhere.
>>
>>15195918
fuck, you're right. I must be aspergers
>>
>>15196225
>who
I'm going to assume this is bait.
>>
>>15196211
Hello.
>>
>>15196234
not everyone's a turboweeb you know
>>
Dragon's Heaven but, that's relatively well known around here
>>
>>15196225
>good luck finding it

>>
None of you know what "well-known" actually means.
>>
>>15196247
Hell, not just that, but bakabt as well. People don't even bother looking for shit before they immediately jump to conclusions.
>>
>>15196221
>I mean, Ohata isn't exactly a small name.

He wasn't ten or fifteen years ago but he's pretty much forgotten by the majority of the anime watching population these days. /m/ is pretty much the only place I even see that regularly brings him up.
>>
>>15195404
>Megazone 23
>Obscure

Ha. Not amongst people that give a shit about 80s anime in the first place.

Outside of things already mentioned in this thread, Dragonar was pretty damn obscure until SRW and one of the Build Fighters decided to reference it. And I've heard great things about God Sigma, Baldios, Juushin Liger, and Gold Lightan, and most of those are at least relatively obscure.

Plawres Sanshiro doesn't get much chatter

There's tons of little ovas that are one shots or obscure as hell. Many were to just advertize comics.

Out of those, I liked "Prefectural Earth Defense Force".

The comics will never be translated ;_;

The OVA of Hagane - Steel Demon is noticeable only by its absence among /m/folk.
>>
>>15197801
As one of the few who have watched this, it's really not worth it. I've seen Godzilla movies with more less tedious buildup
>>

LeDeus is another fairly obscure OVA, and one that still merits a sequel, IMHO.
>>
>>15197811
It's an odd one, alright, but obviously I liked it more than you did.
>>
>>15197801
>>15197811

It's a bit slow, so ti took me 2 sessions to watch it all. The actual giant demon-mech battle was the least interesting part.

As a fan of animation, you should watch it simply because it's well animated and pretty.

Uchuu Kazoku Carlvinson if you want something cute, Dead Heat if you want something that isn't about military combat or super robots duking it out and Good Morning Althea if you just want to kill an hour.
>>
>>15196225
Daisuki has Vifam, they somehow got it as part of a package of old Sunrise shows.

I'm kind of mad that, out of all the old Sunrise shows that they could have picked up and subbed, apparently its the ONLY one they got.

D1 Devastator has nice mecha and character designs. I wash it had subs.
>>
Dougram
>>
>>15198932
I swear it had subs. But I can't find them.
>>
>>15198932
Isn't it from the 90s? Case in point, Gundress, from a post I saw today
>>
>>15200536
ARR has subs, but only for episode 1 (as usual).
>>
>>15201549
Welp.

There's only two episodes though so it's not that bad, but it's a reminder that there's still a fair amount of stuff that's not translated yet out there.
>>
>>15196237
What he said has nothing to do with being weeb. Are you okay anon?

>>15197768
Normally I would say that OP probably wants things that are good, but that pretty much goes directly against what he asked for.

>>15197871
It's really not.
>>
Srungle. I've never seen a mention of this anywhere.
>>
>>15202032
maybe if more people knew about Sexy and her flirty mostly nude robot teasing
>>
>>15202032
At least GORILLA GORILLA is somewhat known.
