We can't read moon runes, someone translate it into American.

I wish we got more scans of moonrunes so we could actually have sources to point to for "Hajime Yadate said that Turn A was uglier than your mom" or whatever

Well just spent the last hour or so digesting the first 3 questions at a snail's pace. My translation skills are kind of shoddy at best but I.. think I got the gist of it? Pretty sure I've missed some stuff, so feel free to correct me.
>Oshii loved the movie, such a well-made movie is kind of a rarity in Japanese cinema nowadays
>He'd love for movies to all be at this kind of standard, but there are many reasons why Japanese cinema don't produce these kinds of movies often
>Firstly he praises Shin Godzilla's well-written script, and it's not to say that other Japanese movie scripts aren't well written because their writers are talentless hacks, but there's no real push to write good screenplays because most movies are adapted from manga. (I guess LNs would fall into this category too?)
>And since manga are already written, people don't have to start screenplays from scratch. Furthermore, the audience often have already read the manga, so their attitudes towards the screenplay itself is meh.
>Obviously the script for a serialised manga and a 2-hour movie are going to be very different, but instead of taking that into account, these movie adaptations tend to become a compilation of scenes from the manga, that's why the screenplays are so sloppy.
>In serialised manga, having 20 characters is not really a problem, but when they adapt it into a 2-hour movie they tend to include characters unnecessary to the plot, and they contribute nothing to the film or the story.
