Oh Great Dangaioh.

That's a series that makes me feel bummed out because it had the shin mazinger Z effect of getting low ratings and sales which led to it not being finished.
Which blows ass because it was gonna fix the ending to the OVA, but it didn't.

The mech designs and the music were pretty good stuff however. Would love to get the soundtrack

Why are they so Mazinger like in appearance?

Dangaioh was initially supposed to be a Mazinger remake but that got cockblocked by Toei.
GD took that concept and actually pulled it through, Great Mazinger appearance ending included, and by doing so they almost completely forgot that it was a sequel to Dangaioh.

I liked it. The art was of that late 90s garbage era, but the show itself was a solid super robot yarn.

Someone needs to hand Obari a billion yens and get him to make Dangaikaizer.

It's probably for the best that it got canned, then, because if their 'fix' was anything like the rest of the show's quality then it would have just shat on original Dangaioh even harder.
