the patch that applied the DP system also buffs the damage up significantly (normal type beam rifle up from 2300 to 3500 per shot) as a part of the specification that a heavy type unit should have better firepower than the assault type. zakus don't have beam rifles, and their weapons weren't buffed at all.

Just a lack of cohesion between Zeeks in lower ranks lead to me always being on the losing side. I could gt 5th place every single match racking up massive kill streaks, but if you are on the losing side you don't get promoted. There are more NEETs on the Fed side and for the longest time ever the Alex would just rape you, and there was nothing you could do. Zeek suits have larger hitboxes and worse melee. Pretty much the only time Zeon had the advantage was on maps with lots of hallways, where you could just peek with charge zooks.

When I first started playing MSGO they had a event to get free silver BP's of Alex Gundam for feddie and Kampfer for zeon. Alex gundam was so good to play. I didn't even use the beam rifle I just used the little mini gun thing blasting enemys.

Yeah I missed out on that because I've TECHNICALLY been playing since the Open Beta, but because I live in Canada internet speeds are abysmal. I didn't get to play on a regular basis until august of 2015.
I got real lucky and managed to get myself a whole deck of Zaku II F2 and two Half Cannons from an EX gasha and they more or less were the only suits I had that were even half decent until the DP change, which incidentally made both the suits pretty crappy.

Now I have a job so I can only manage to squeeze in 2-3 matches a day (Which are usually in the afternoon) resulting in me being eternally stuck between Bronze and silver.

The 8th MS team maps are never on rotation anymore (Although the shallow river one was on rotation not to long ago)
The one map with the water along the south edge and the mountain ridge along the north is also gone
Both versions of Doan's island are gone
Jaburo is currently in the rotation but it never seems to show up
The one destroyed colony space map is gone. (Good riddance)

There are probably others that I'm missing.
I wish they would spice shit up a little, playing on Texas, New York and Antarctica is fucking boring.

Assuming you tone down the graphical setting this game can run on just about any PC even with the retarded memory leak issues. Essentially if your computer can smoothly run something like Oblivion you should be good, the biggest issue you'll have is lag.

Well I can't give an opinion on Hawken, as I've never played it, I can say that this plays nothing like SDGO
Think Starwars Battlefront (The good one, not the shitty EA one) only with gundams, and that's essentially MSGO.

all the good zeon low cost units which have >140 seconds to respawn like ramba gouf and char zaku I are event blueprints so you'll have to get used to the 50 second zaku II heavy for low cost unit until they get rerun again

anyway, only do that if you want to be useful. if you want to rake in points (and rank up), get the rocket blast expansion passive and use the type W zook (max the range and aoe). spam it at the general direction of the enemy from behind your teammates, familiarize yourself with the range to airblast them. use the full-auto 120mm to plink everyone near you, and either grenade the shit out of chokepoints (grenade modules helpful) or spam long range missile on open areas. just make sure you're away from the heat. and get the fuck out of there if there's any assault suit going for you, back to the safety of your teammates.

They use it as a substitute for the gold heavy-type Juagg (and play it as such) mainly for its charged beam cannons (the difference being slightly slower and trading the triple rocket launcher for a triple incendiary howitzer). 50 playbonus tickets are much easier to get than 5 mil GP.

Just wanted to try out shadowplay (also Lightworks and a webm converter), so did that during the match.

And speaking of which the closest thing Zeon has to that suit is actually JR's Gelgoog Cannon (exchange for 50 play bonus tickets), because of its exclusive M-type beam cannon. Much weaker of course, but I would still recommend it among Zeon's exchange suits.

since the huge update, M-type weapons are generally better for DP. most have higher rate of fire (which doesn't show up anywhere on the stats).

So on the wiki it shows the max amount you can upgrade suits by in red, right? For the Galluss-J's beam gun it has (0,000) written in red under damage, does that mean I just can't upgrade it's damage?
Also for the Rick Dom II there just isn't any red text at all, does that mean there is no limit on the upgraded stats?

nah it's probably just hasn't been updated or confirmed. keep in mind the amount of suits and the constant balance changes, it's not that easy maintaining the wiki. that said, normally the max upgrade for damage, range, AoE, and lockon size is +10% of the base value, and I believe it also applies to that gun's damage.

you can most certainly upgrade a stat as long as it's there
for the most part, a stat can be upgraded to max +10% of its original though there are exceptions like some suit stat, rate of fire, and reload speed

The sad thing about JR gelgoog cannon is how it's generally worse than the standard gelgoog cannon (-300 armor, -1 module slot, and lack of various weapons such as charge beam rifle and W-type zook being the major ones) even though it has higher cost. Maybe an oversight when the armor buffs were rolled for almost every suit back then. Its only plus points are the slightly more max speed and boost charge, M-type beam cannon (instead of L), and the blazing red color.

Last thing, is there any reason at all to upgrade lock-on for a beam gun like Galluss-J's? In the ZZ video he just says "if your gun has good homing" and I'm not fully sure what that means. I've upgraded the damage but I'm a little lost on what other stat to go for since this is my first time really messing with the upgrade system.

Reminder that there are two different stats that include the word "lock".

Lockon. On a gun it's a very important stat to upgrade for the current meta. I'd max this first, then damage, then range if you have leftovers. It really helps you engage someone in close-mid range.

Lock area. This is only on missiles with homing, and generally pointless to upgrade as it only affects the missile lockon targeting (how big the circle is). The Gallus J has one I think (it shoots the missiles one a click).

It's not wrong since most of the time that's how far you can upgrade a beam rifle lockon without maxing up the upgrade. Also it depends on how far your engagement distance, closer = higher lockon value because of the beam's travel speed (too high lockon might make it impossible to lead moving distant targets). Personally I'm maxing it because I always try to get as close as possible to the enemy.

Whether I boost lock-on or not depends on whether it has good projectile speed and if it has at least 800 base lock-on. I will settle of 780 base sometimes. With good projectile speed, 960 lock-on is enough lead for a high projectile speed weapon at long range, due to the fact that the farther away a target is, the lower the angular velocity. A fast boosting suit at midrange will outrun your lock-on though.

I haven't found any use to boosting lock-on if it doesn't even cross the 940 mark. I suppose, theoretically, you could tailor the lock-on on bazookas so that pointing all the way to the right/left will be the correct leading distance on certain targets.

Well that comes with the trade. Zooks won't out dps a beam rifle unless you kill them with it. The only zook based suit I dare run now is the Kampfer simply because its like a high speed bomber. The cold type Dom is the only one I've ever used, but its combo is pretty simple. Net gun into 10k. Perhaps there is someone more knowledgeable about Doms around.

M-types are your Low Damage, High Magazine weapons.
They're better when you want to maintain sustained fire with a single clip rather than killing shots.
For instance, I use the M-type on my Ball's Recoil-less Cannon in order to have more shots due to the abysmal reload speed.

Yeah, that's what that "COST" number is actually about when it isn't limiting what suits you can have in your MS Deck; It's an indicator on how bad that Suit dying (I think from being outright destroyed in order to give Supports a reason to revive) will deplete your Force Gauge.
Now normally, this isn't TOO much of an issue, as your basic 200 COST grunt will only have a 3/2 advantage over a 300 COST Elite Suit, but if you keep suiciding in 380 Hyaku Shiki's without killing anyone or doing any damage to a Base (LIKE WHAT MY LAST TEAM WAS APPARENTLY DOING), it's going to hurt your team something fierce.

So if you end up dying A LOT (Like I do), stick with your Grunts and protect the flank.

One side is the high cost suits just rushes and dies constantly, losing team gauge. And the other is no one wanting to die letting the enemy take all the control points/container spawns.
Ideally some should go and contest as a necessary sacrifices while the others act as fire support. But those that goes in won't get any points/score, so no one wants to do it especially in the gold tier. Only time people would move in for an attack they do so using The Os, a whole lot of them, and is very effective.
In the end matches are usually reduced to potshots/peekaboo with "The O Time" twice per match (at start and 11-10 minutes remaining). Occasionally a general would step in and mix up the strategy a bit, usually works especially when the other side doesn't have one, but can still fail nonetheless.

I think a good rule of thumb is no more than two 280+ suits per deck.

Gouf Flight Type's gatling shield only has around 10.8k dps N type (12.9k dps F type) fully upgraded damage and rate of fire. While there's also the charged all-mag type which deals around 23.5k dps, good luck using it against jios with its 300 range.

Zaku halfcannon's even worse, with only 9.9k dps max N type (11.5k dps F type).

Compare it to beam rifles. Your 4k rifles (320+ cost heavies) deal 12.5k N type and 13.5k F type, which can be further increased by beam shooter trait to max 14.4k and 15.3k dps respectively.

Those doesn't even take into consideration that you must hit every single bullet (range and accuracy) and also the dpps value (down point per second, which again favors the beam rifles greatly).

Man, I wouldn't even know what I'd want to do with one of those. I'd sorta want to save it for a suit like the Hazel-Rah or something if it ever comes out, but I'd also want to get a gold variant of units that I already have. Maybe they'll do the smart thing and lower the price of Gold BPs to 1 mil.

Silver mechanic tickets are pretty cheap. I usually sold my rental mobile suit blueprints to make the cash. you should never be dirt poor though. There is a GP event coming in a few weeks that might help though.

Weapon power only increases damage, I don't think it changes downpoints.

There are real concerns about this being a "Gigan but better", and the video doesn't help. It's tiny, far smaller I'd think appropriate for its components, at least in a game where a lot of the suits are already blatantly oversized compared to source materiel.

For modules, no modules is best. You want to respawn it at least once in the game.

General Rule of thumb is is Upgrade Lock On, unless its an explosive weapon. With them you want Damage and Blast Radius.

Main source of new suits is the various Gachas and events.
There are several sources of Gacha tickets, just play around for a bit.
I don't know if they changed it, but you used to get a couple of free DX tickets from clearing the tutorials and some newbie missions. Use those so you get something more than a starter suit.

There's 3 types of blueprints you can get from the shops. Gold, Silver, and Rental(Green). The Beginner Suits are units like the GM, Zaku I, Guntank MP type, or Zaku I Sniper. To buy them at the shop, click the first button on after clicking the shopping cart, then the second button to buy mobile suit blueprints. You'll know they're beginner suits if their cost is MUCH lower than the 5,000,000 or 250,000 costs.
