Artillery for sure. My ideal would be a Xamel with a team of Zaku I's to cover me in close quarters. Or whatever equivalent to whatever Gundam universe I'm in.

A giant mobile artillery unit with a support team of older models that have been phased out of mass-production but are still serviceable so they're on rear line duty.

I pilot a 'mobile armor' that is literally all the same parts as a grunt suit but put together to make a space weapons platform that isn't complete ass by cutting out things like useless legs in space and adding computers as strong as that in a 1995 flip phone so minovsky no longer matters to me.

I do really well against enemy grunts until an enemy named character closes into melee with me through the magic of editing that allows him to cross the entire battlefield without me shooting at him, and then he stops time to spend 3-4 minutes reading aloud from college textbooks about philosophy. When time restarts his attack finally hits me and I die.

Despite proving overall very effective and cheap to produce my faction never again builds anything like the mobile armor I designed.

A smaller, lightweight cqc suit geared primarily toward intrusion/stealth rather than mass-meelee. Sort of like those ECOAS guys or a 12m Solid Snake.

And I'd have an overwatch/sniper partner in a beam burst / artillery ms whose radio callsign was "God" so when I get found/surrounded by enemies I can pretend to give up.

I don't really care the role, I just like the idea of the human being a key to use the AI system like EVA or FSS.

I would probably want something super versatile. Balance of close combat mixed with strong ranged/missle attacks. Kind of a cop out I know but I would want something that can take out grunts as well as be equal in power to something like MA's.
