Why hasn't the full series for Danguard Ace been subbed? It's one of the best shows of its decade, not to mention the fact that it's Matsumoto's only mech (giant robot) anime.

Post more shows that you wish had subs. Ones that are actively being worked on don't count.
>>
I know that anything related to or emulating Mito Komon has less than a snowball's chance in hell of getting subs, but this has the highest likelihood.

I was really impressed with what episodes of Danguard Ace had been subbed. I'm certain it must have been a major influence on Gunbuster.

The other show I'd be interested in is Goshogun, a show I've heard tremendous praise for.

It was to feature several Matsumoto series.

Anyone else fixin' for some Baldios subs?
>>
>>15178386
I wanted 80s Tetsujin to be fully subbed
>>
>>15178408
>>15178411
Thank god it was canceled.
>>
Srungle and Dorvack. Because those are only TV series from 80's "real robot" list i haven't watched. Hope Dragonar will be subbed by /m/subs completely soon
"Srungle" as a word also has hilarious pronunciation in Russian, that's why I still remember this title. Ah, and OP is also funny and viral… GORILLA GORILLA GORILLA SATISFACTION

Present. It's a shame that the only fansub group to seriously attempt it actually gave up (and were named Bluefixer, no less).
>>
>>15178411
But how would the audience differentiate the characters from different shows? It's always the same four characters with that guy.

This.

Does Galvion have subs yet? I know Laserion just got some, so 80s mecha is getting a lot closer to done. 70s, however...
>>
>>15180574
Is that Robotech with cars?
>>
>>15180574
Galvion doesn't even have BD rips, as far as I know.

That's another show like Danguard Ace, where I was really impressed with what I saw and then the sub group dropped off the ends of the Earth.

It's a shame, to. With that alongside Ideon and Zambot 3 we'd have all the classic "mecha shows with fantastically grim conclusions" available in English.

>>15179887
>But how would the audience differentiate the characters from different shows?
I...
I don't know.
>>
>>15179467
Srungle being hard to pronounce is the point, I think. That's also why the organization is "Gorilla" - it sounds weird in for people with that accent to say.

>>15180574
>I know Laserion just got some

A single episode on NYE of 2015.

>>15181734
>we'd have all the classic "mecha shows with fantastically grim conclusions" available in English.

But then we'd still be missing Acrobunch. Which ended with the Earth getting destroyed by asteroids and then tossed into a black hole while the main heroes... ascended to a higher plane of existence or something, I don't fucking know.
>>
>>15181329
I've managed to rip the first 2-3 episodes but the torrent is semi dead and covers the first 9 episodes only.

Albegas

The episodes I've seen from raws were pretty good.
>>
>>15182233
I have to wonder what the J9 writer was smoking that time, it's like he wanted to outdo Raiders of the Lost Ark's ending with the Ark of the Covenant.

>>15182470
Still a far shot, then. At this rate Nanto might be the only person to get it.
>>
>>15181823
>forgetting Eva
That's actually been available in English for a long while.

...like, I hope this isn't news to you. I'd hate to think you've been waiting for fansubbers to tackle that obscure "Evangelion" show for 20+ years now, when it's in fact been widely available since forever. That would suck.
>>
>>15179038
>Anyone else fixin' for some Baldios subs?

What's wrong with learning italian ? It's certainly easier than learning japanese. And you get access not only to Baldios proprer, but also the full length movie which gives an alternate ending. More personal and more depressing than the one in the tv series.
>>
>>15182233
>A single episode on NYE of 2015.
Welp, forget what I said, then. Last year I was under the impression that all of it was being (or was) subbed. Well, some day.

>>15182470
The fact that raws are this hard to obtain kind of scares me. (although it looks like all of non-bluray Galvion is available, if interested). If it weren't for fansubs, I'm guessing that by 2025 or 2030, a lot of these shows would have fallen into obscurity, never to get subs or fan releases of any kind. After all, they'd be a half-century old by that point.

Even so, there's only so much that can be done for old anime. There aren't a million sub groups. If I knew or was able to learn Japanese well enough to work on these kinds of projects, I would. But for me and a lot of other anons, there isn't enough impetus to learn; mecha anime only isn't really enough for what takes years of effort.

There are way more robot shows dubbed in Italian, so learning it for just Baldios would be a bit silly.
>>
>>15184711
The non-BD raws are VHS quality and bloody terrible. At this rate it looks like some person's gonna have to stump up a few hundred quid to actually buy the boxset.

And before anyone suggests ADC, the torrent I have is from ADC already.
>>
>>15184711
It will be, but Luurah and... I forget who the collab was with, Nanto maybe? Haven't put out any more episodes since.
>>
>>15185804
Luurah's great for focusing on those old shows, but it looks as if they've not released anything for four months.
>>
As one of the few that watched Baldios in its entirety I heed you: There is no darker anime, /m/ or otherwise, and there never will be. Carry on.
>>
>>15187312
Last I heard from him he was working on something in the background (he edits Raideen for me), but I don't know the exact details.
>>
>>15185804
Yup, Nanto. Pretty much the only Luurah/Nanto collab so far that hasn't been foiled by R1 licensing because, really, who ever heard of Laserion?

>>15187312
At the least the owner is under the radar, since he recently got a Raideen script from Starseeker.
http://z8.invisionfree.com/mSubs/index.php?showtopic=55&st=110

>>15187317
I hope Luurah gets to that one eventually.
>>
>>15178973
It actually makes me wonder why Liger isn't subbed. Liger the wrestler is enough well known among us, so why the hold up?
>>
>>15187312

>but it looks as if they've not released anything for four months.
>>
>>15187371
Any Dynamic Planning IP that's not at least slightly familiar overall gets the shaft. That's the only reason I can think of. Hell, Azteckaiser was a Nagai/Ishikawa toku/anime hybrid collab, and only Nanto went after it to little result.

But then again, >>15187476 is a prominent threat.
