Go-Busters > Kyoryuger > Tokkyuger > Zyuohger > Ninninger

Go-Busters is a unique, ambitious series with a strong OST, amazing action direction and a few really neat gimmicks. The villains (Enter and Escape) were also really cool and memorable. We'll never have anything like it again.

Kyoryuger is loud, bombastic, has Sakamoto and wants you to like it a whole lot, and it's easy to like. While not necessarily heavy on plot it compensates with good showing, red-centric focus easily outweighed by the fact that every other character if not as privileged, just as colorful. Also, Yayoi. Yayoi's arc was good. Praise Sakamoto.

Tokkyuger is a bit of a tough one, it's not really cool like Kyoryuger or serious like Go-Busters, but it has its own heart and charm. Its main gimmick (exchanging colors) is honestly pointless and the suit design takes time to grow on you but the characters are all very charming, including the enemy side.

Zyuohger was just okay. A bit too by the book, never really tried to stand out in any way and after Bunglay a certain point was really just full on autopilot.

Ninninger sucks. It's dull, loud and doesn't know what it wants to do. Desperate cameos were an annoyance rather than a boon. GG EZ DN, no re.

depends what you like m8, it's all very formulaic so it's just a matter of what atmosphere and concept you like. Riderfags tend to go for the more serious concepts, so give Go-Busters and Shinkenger a shot, they're only a few years divorced either way from Gokai so it's not going to be as jarring as going from Gokai to 90s shows like Megaranger or Kakuranger.

Also, watch Gekiranger. Everyone should watch Gekiranger (and get the Geki-Senshi scrubs off krdl before they're lost, the show needs a retranslation so they're not the best but FUCK tvn's"translation" for that show is worse than crabsticks)

Toqger had heart and was fun from start to finish. The idea that they were all just kids fighting the villains of the monsters under their bed really lit up my heart and is my favourite sentai.

Go Busters however is the technically better sentai in terms of story and how radically ambitious it is with everything it does.

Kyoryuger at it's best is better and more fun than Zyuohger but at it's worst is far worse and really stupid compared to Zyuohger.

Zyuohger as a whole is a very basic sentai and while you can watch it on a weekly basis it's a bit of a chore to marathon. Some good parts, some bad parts.

Ninninger I dropped the first episode. I like the morpher and the seasons colours but that's it.

I didn't like the ending, it felt very anticlimactic.
Like there was no pressure at all, they just beat the fuck out of Genis and magically get power from the earth, also they could've pulled a flashier finisher with Dodeka King, that planet shot was terrible.
Genis just died like a regular MOTW and the thing about merging Earth and Zyuland came outta nowhere, with no build up at all.
Zyuohger was a solid season but the finale was very disappointing.
By the way, Lucky/Shishi Red's actor sounds fucking lame in that last part. Like he can't act at all

The merging of the two world may seem like an asspull, but it's actually a decent bit of world building on Toei's part. Animal headed characters have been popular in Sentai for a while. Doggie Kruger, Master Shafu, and Torin have all been fan favorites, and with Zyuogher, Toei tested the waters to do that sort of thing more often. The merging of the worlds gives them a convenient excuse for there to be more animal head characters from now on. They don't even need a major reason, just say "Yeah, there;s a Zyuman on the team".
