It's actually kind of impressive that Teiwaz engineers managed to not only develop a complete understanding of 300-year-old lost technology, but also manage to upgrade and improve on the original design. Doesn't that make them more powerful in the MS development section over Gjallarhorn? The only thing Gjallarhorn has for itself now is Ahab Reactor production. The Reginlaze frame is just an advancement of the Graze frame, which in itself is a dumbed-down Valkyrie frame. Meanwhile the Tewiaz frame is completely new tech inspired from incomplete Calamity War blueprints.

Technically they're not "Improving" the original design per-se, so much as adjusting it for the use of its current pilot. The implication with the Gundam Frames being generally pretty similar, if not identical, is that they were made to be super-customized to the pilot's specifications.

Barbatos Form 4 is basically its "Origin", how its original pilot liked it. Meanwhile the Lupus and Lupus Rex are specifically tailored to Mikazuki.

The Valk frames put everything into mobility and speed, while Gundam frames supported raw, high output and limitless customization due to the twin reactors and frame shape. On paper, the Valk frames could only do something high-mobility like the Grimgerde. The Helmwiege manual states that all that armor on the Grimgerde's frame is pushing it to its absolute limits for joint mobility and is only mitigated by having an excess of thrusters on the shoulders and torso. The whole point of this arc is to show how Orga's decision have made Tekkadan going back to what they were at the beginning of S1. Hence the "stray dog" dialogue with McGillis last week

Jasley openly talks about taking down the old man along with Tekkadan, so McMurdo is definitely not seeing Jasley & Co. in a positive light. That said, if Iok is there, and Iok dies, Teiwaz isn't going to want anything to do with groups that have Gjallarhorn up their asses. Teiwaz will also considerably weakened; with Naze dead, the Turbines can't do the kinds of jobs they did, that major asset is effectively gone. The new Teiwaz suit in Tekkadan's lineup suggests Azee is also going to bail on Teiwaz and join the boys, further reducing Teiwaz's combat strength. And then whatever the fuck Jasley and his allies do, they won't exist anymore.

Tekkadan will have survived the Teiwaz civil war while Teiwaz itself will be crippled as fuck.
