I can comment on the video quality.
It's the same master as the Japanese release, however less bitrate and less film grain. some ringing around the edges if you zoom in closely.

since i'm going to encode it, it's my preferred version, faster encode because i simply have to dither it straight and nothing else and better compressibility.

expect a rip from me in 2020

What about it? I watched the series for the first time ever through their BDs, just finished up recently. Like all their other releases there's a very rare typo now and then, but otherwise perfectly watchable and understandable.

The subs are fine. They're actually pretty similar to the last EG translation. Different word choices, but context is the same in nearly all cases I can remember.

These are of course the definitive versions, but they won't really be that different from what you already knew.
