I just don't get the ending,
realistically saying,why does taking care of your ill sister=going to die alone with no wive &children or even friends beside ?
he could have take care of his sister and also get the girl and have children to rebuild his clan.

I just don't get how this type of "best friend&rival" relationship in many fiction such as Betty and
Veronica from archie.
(when two female character that are show to be kind of like best friend yet the two argue and fight all the time for almost every thing ,especially when they are competing to won the affection of the male hero they both like ) can actually work.
Doesn't being friend means you don't argue all the time ?
