But that's exactly my point. Bipedal creatures developed for a very specif niche that doesn't apply to robots whatsoever. Bipedalism evolved in a way that was slated towards drastically lowering internal body temperature for larger brains and taking advantage of our heavy reliance on binocular vision. It also gives us our advantage of hands made for fine manipulation. None of this applies to robots because there are simpler ways to do that when you can freely create the form from scratch.

Nah, robot developements doesn't restrict in some form in anyway, all platform doesn't topple each other, they all have their own purpose and weakness. There's no such thing as "more efficient in everyway", stop thinking like power leveling nerds.

Quadrepedals have stability and propultion advantages but eat more spaces and have far more structural complexity and more complex movement pattern.

Wheel are more simple but have maneuverability problems and only operatable at limited terrain, giving them tracks enabling them to bypass some of the rought ones but in the cost of mobility drop and far less maneuverability.

Bipedals give less stability and a bit more programming complexity but adding more simpler structural design, less space and give you far more versatility, so they're more ideal in cramped space.
