Okay /m/. Say you were in the market for a mecha tabletop game. What kind of things would you want in a real robot focused tabletop RPG?

Be more specific.
Pen and paper? Miniatures? Mechanopoly? Do you have any idea how many kinds of table top games there can be?
When one refers to a Tabletop RPG, they generally mean a pen and paper RPG. If meant a wargame, they'd say a Wargame.

I want GURPS-style varying detail. I want to have to use three sheets of paper to keep track of all my robot's internal parts, and I want every movement to involve rolling enough dice that I feel like I'm playing shadowrun. I want to be able to tell the GM things like "I switch my camera to infrared mode, because next round I'm going to try and see if his diffuser is overheating, since it's an older model. If so, I'm going to target it with the last of my manual guided missiles" and have that make sense.
After a session or so of that, however, it would be nice if we could all agree as a group "Let's not use the Manual Transmission appendix - it slows things down too much", then quietly ignore the third sheet of paper.

This, that shit is so cool especially when pilots are interchangeable.

awesome legs

Limb and subsystem damage, and good customization with plenty of viable options.
I want to be able to do silly shit like strip off armor and fire extinguishing systems to fit more guns on, or drop everything and strap jump jets onto everything to make a heavy peace of shit fly.

To be honest, pre-generated stats for lots of robots and cool pictures.

Make it have glorious, detailed damage with varying effects and consequences, but be fairly quick to play.
