Kudelia is the one person that can not die due to plot reasons. She is, in regards to the main story-line, the most important character of the show because she actually has the power to accomplish what every main character in IBO dreams of. Atra might die, but I doubt it. Especially after todays episode. Lafter was nothing but a mercenary, a cold blooded killer who didnt serve any more purpose after training Tekkadan. How is the death of Lafter doing anything for the development of the main character (we're less than 10 episodes from the end) ? There is no emotional connection between them. On the other hand, we've had 40 fucking episodes to build the relationship between mr. cold blooded assassin and sugoi-hime-sama and atra. That right there is a source of conflict and potential drama. Every death had to be meaningful, and Lafter's isn't. She ended up being a wasted character.
