How bad is the game?

It's not terrible. The character and mech designs are neat, and the battle gameplay is fast and fluid. Real issues is that instead of being like a JRPG with and overworld like the first two games they added some sort of psuedo-SRPG gameplay that is honestly really really shitty and encourages you to use the auto-battles rather than fighting them yourselves. Also, the story is retarded, even in Danball Senki standards.

Good ideas the game had is that you form up squads and recruit lots of different people which is really neat.


Pic related, you order the units to move around the little map and attack other units, or reach objectives. Sounds okay on paper but really slow in the end. Also, since unit type or other advanteges take priority in the field, you're supposed to use whatever fits the map rather than what you want which is lame.

It's dead, Jim. Level 5 handled the IP badly and the final game in the IP was mediocre at best.

Megaton Musashi will be the new hotness until Level 5 milks that for all it's worth and leaves it in the dust like everythnig else they've done.

I'm still salty about how that series is canonically the last entry in the Danball series and leaves Hiro in a coma after he got blown up, brainwashed and beaten the brainwash out of him.

And most of its designs are ugly clusterfucks.
