Her whole family was fucked up. Not only was her brother a sociopath, her father is a raging loon, and her mother practically abandoned her. The closest thing to a normal family member she ever had was her adoptive father who passed away when she was barely 16. Anybody she ever recognized as family has either abandoned her or died on her with half of them doing both.

Yes, she got Bright. A guy she barely saw for at least 15 years because he had other commitments. She essentially ended up a single mom in a crappy place in Hong Kong if I recall. What a winner she bagged.

Also, Sayla didn't get anyone. Especially not Amuro, who moved on and dated several other women. What Sayla did do was move on, find other purpose in life and probably became one of the happiest members of the 0079 cast, because she didn't let the past define her or become caught in it.
