How was Tranzor Z even popular among kids when it came out?
Just listen to this dub.

I don't think it was. It's probably even more obscure than Force Five.

I actually thought it was kinda popular or at least known, but I really have no clue.
I don't recall anybody else knowing of it when I was a kid.

It came way too late to the U.S. Transformers was already out by then and that was an 80s anime.
I mean they brought Saint Seiya over there in the early 2000. The ship had already sailed by then. No wonder it bombed.
For example, Grendizer aired in France in 1978, which is only 3 years after its Japanese airing. At the time there weren't any interesting cartoons on tv so it had that initial wow factor.

Haha classic shit.
>Tommy I'm dying!
>Quick, tell me what weapons TRANZOR ZEE HAS
>sure let me list a bunch of Great Mazinger attacks, accompanied by footage from that show, that your robot doesn't even have!
>is there more!?
>yes, but blarg I'm dead
>oh he's unconcious!

Hilariously, the same thing happened in France, since they tried to both air it after Grendizer AND use different VAs. Didn't work out.

I know some Gen-Xers have seen it, which felt weird since this is in Eastern Canada, prime Grendizer territory.

I want to kill myself after watching that
