I fucking hated every single character in Gaim and found them to be the blandest most unlikable and assholes for the sake of being asshole bunch.

I agree. I enjoyed Gaim the first time I watched it (as my first rider), but rewatching it recently having watched every other heisei rider bar Agito... the characters are very lacking. I still enjoyed Oren, Jonouchi and Micchy (to a point and in the same way I enjoyed Kusaka), but the rest were bland at best and immensely irritating at worst.
The idea that the characters develop or grow in any remarkable way is also laughable.
That said, I still have fond memories of the "WTF IS GOING ON" feelings it gave me on my first watch so I'd still rec it to someone new to Rider.

I watched it and the main riders are likeable 90% of the time more so than most other series.

The only unlikeable Heisei main riders are Kiva, Wizard, Gaim and Ghost.

I wasn't fond of Drive's whole set up in the first half of the show. The investigation/police theme kind of clashed with the enemies being inhuman robots, making the investigation stuff seem like a waste of time.The 2nd half fixed it, but it takes a long time to get there.

As far as Gaim goes, the only Riders I really didn't care for were Sigurd and Marika.

With the catalog going as far as teasing the final form, I wonder if Toei has any plans on using existing toys to create something new for the show. I mean, Snipe and Brave seem to be getting their final show forms really early. All that is left is Emu's Lvl99 and Final. They could just carry on with the story for the rest of the show, but that doesn't seem like modern Bandai.

What I am saying is, perhaps we could see Riders using the Lvl3s as Lvl2s? Perhaps by using the final Gashat and prototype version all at once, a Rider form could be achieved? They do seem to have underused the Prototype Gashats.

Atsushi Tojo was never very athletic, it wasn't a requirement in medical school. Now, usually this wouldn't be a problem since he could still sprint the necessary short distances between patients back at the hospital, but when he was on the CR's call, it definitely was. Normally, he'd be getting a ride from his partner Buck Freely, but the American son of a bitch apparently valued getting a burger more than being at the standby for an alarm about Bugster attacks. It'd be a regret of his one day, certainly.

However, the only big regret at the moment was regretting letting Buck also have the Gashat Gear Dual in his ride. Tojo was forced to simply help get people away from the recently manifested Bugster Union. Visibly made of viral material, the gargantuan creature flailed its hefty arms around the area, knocking down various bits of plastic furniture, cracking buildings, and occasionally flinging away an innocent bystander. From what he was told on the CR call, Mighty Action X was having a re-release event to compensate for the original failed release party back at Zero Day. Unfortunately some idiot apparently forgot to inspect the Gashats, because someone got infected with Game Disease.

Tojo couldn't stall himself any further by getting people away from the walking disease. Even though he couldn't transform he DID need to do something about the Bugster. Rushing over to the monster, he braced himself to attack. However, as he ran, he could hear the distant yell of someone in an American accent.

At the end of the yell, Tojo narrowly dodged an ambulance that flew past him and slammed into the Bugster, causing it to fall onto its back. Climbing out of the ambulance shortly after was the Japanese picture of the American emblem, the opposite of Tojo. While the doctor was lanky, quiet, and dark-haired, Buck was a broad-shouldered, loud and blonde American. The gaijin even had a cowboy hat.

"Now THAT is an entrance," proclaimed Buck as he proudly sauntered his way over to Tojo. "He'll need a second to get up, so if you could kindly hand over the Gashat..."

"What Gashat? I gave it to you," responded Atsushi. The paramedic stared at him as though he had an extra head. "Didn't I give it back to you because I was off getting lunch?"

"No, you moron, you drove off-" Their bickering was interrupted by the groan of the Bugster scrambled onto its meatball-esque feet, prompting Buck to rush back to the ambulance and search for their needed transformation device.

Buck used the panic as fuel to scavenge through his messy ambulance, before finally finding the Gashat Gear Dual laying down amongst a pile of old McDonald's bags and KFC buckets.

Grabbing it and running back to Tojo, he held up the Gashat and tapped the button activating it once before tossing it into the air. By the usual magic that is GENM Corp technology, the one device became two, before descending down into both of the medical professionals' hands.

Each put forward the Gashat, before turning the knobs in separate direction.

Buck rotated the knob leftwards, causing it to yell "KNOCK OUT FIGHTER!"

Tojo rotated his to the right, causing it to yell "PERFECT PUZZLE!"

Holding their Gashats out afterwards, they managed to both synchronize and say "Henshin!" before slamming their thumbs back down on the button of the Gashat.

The red-clad Para nodded to the blue Doc, before rushing in, hefty boxing gloves raised and poised for action. At the same time, Doc snapped his fingers together, a myriad of coin and medal-shaped items ascending to the air and organizing themselves in a perfect grid.

The speed Buck flew at was unbelievable, practically bounding twenty feet at a time with each hop, before he swung downards, feigning an uppercut like motion. At the same time, a wide stream of fire erupted from the ground and launched towards the Bugster Union, which was at the time still catching its bearings from having faced the Democratic Ambulance of Freedom.

The reaction was as intended, causing it to get stunned from the attack again, unable to notice the red, fire-coated fist flying at it, sending it reeling into the nearby wall. Slowly, the Bugster yanked itself out from the crater, letting out another synthesized "groan" of pain.

Thus began the game of cat and mouse, if the mouse swung like Mike Tyson. With each step Buck had to take to dodge, he followed up with gazelle punches, laughing and cheering the entire time.

Doc continued to examine the various Energy Items available, before simply flicking a wrist towards Para, sending out a pink medal that melded into his armor, before his Gashat yelled out "Stretch!"

Not even bothering to remark at the sudden ambush of advantages, Para began to unleash a barrage of elastic-armed punches in a barrage, audibly taking great joy in his newfound temporary ability.

Having expended most of the Bugster Union's stamina on trying not to get knocked unconscious, the duo felt it was finally time to finish the job.

Both retrieved their Gashats at the same time, maintaining the odd synchronicity as they repeated the motion on both of their knobs, causing the Gashats to yell "KIMEWAZA!"

Within the same motion, they slammed their Gashats into a sideholder, causing the voice to then yell "Dual Gashat!"

First came Doc, who needed to pick out two Energy Items. Deciding to keep it simple, he nabbed a red and a blue one, Muscular and High-Jump respectively, before sending them off to Para. At the same time, his Gashat yelled "Perfect Critical Combo!"

As Para was assaulted by two more Energy Items, he felt a wave of strength come through him as he crouched down. "Knockout Critical Smash!" yelled his Gashat as he bounded upwards from his position, swinging his hefty gauntlet up at the same time. The Bugster and the Kamen Rider flew into the air, the burning fist constantly blaring off HIT after HIT from the constant pressure he was applying to the virus. Finally, the Gashat yelled "KO!" before Para gave one last swing of his arm, sending the Bugster off alone into what is most likely the stratosphere.

As the Bugster continued to soar, gravity resumed effecting Buck, causing him to land next to Tojo. Purely for the sake of showing off, they decided to pose together as the Bugster burst into flames, barely even a visible hint of orange in the sky.

In GENM Smash Bros, all of GENM's popular characters change into humanoid fighters to duke it out. Lvl3s are the equivalent of Assisst Trophies: games that are not popular enough to be Riders.
