So I've been watching a lot of Gokaiger recently, fucking loving it, near the end now.
Last night (yuropoor here) I had a dream I was in a taxi or car or something with Captain Marvelous (the actor). It felt so real and I was so happy that I couldn't even believe it in the dream. He spoke English or I spoke Japanese, not sure, but he even had the same smartphone as me. I don't remember what we talked about, but I'm certain most of it was probably just me expressing my joy.

Yeah, but there's no real motive besides "EVIIIIIIL".

Sure, betrayal for having his planet destroyed was interesting, but the character devolved back into base EVIIIIIIL just because the main bad was more EVIIIIIIL.

Compare that to a nuanced big bad like Zet from Toqger, and it just seems like a letdown. Naria seemed like watered down Kyuemon too, who was a letdown of a villain for the amount of focus she got in turn.

Honestly, this new enemy faction does make me think. I've always wondered why, in universe, bad guys keep trying to mess with Earth when it clearly never works. I mean I know the real reason is because there would be no show, but in-universe it just makes all the villains seems oddly dense. "Well, the last thirty nine evil villain factions all failed, but i'm sure I'll definitely be the one to pull it off!" With these guys, they finally broke the streak and actually one once. So that makes the score Sentai: 40, Bad guys: 1. I guess if at first you don't succeed, keep trying for almost half a century.
