Now that's a name I havent heard in a while

I'm watching Zeta right now, on episode 16. The characterization is so fucking wonky, I have no idea what's going on. Everybody is all over the map. Kamille is a goddamn rollercoaster of emotions, bouncing from level-headedness to violent outbursts often in the same fucking sentence. I don't get this fucking kid at all.

And the meeting between Amuro and Char was so fucking anticlimactic. He's also too calm and collected, I miss the Red Motherfuckin' Comet from 0079 with his stupid helmet, instead of Quad Vagina and his dumb glasses. And Amuro is such a mopey piece of shit right now.

And I'm so fucking tired of Jerid, holy shit, it's the same crap every episode with this guy.

What was Tomino thinking? Should I just watch ANT? I hear the writing is at least more consistent and streamlined, even if the animation isn't (idgaf about the animation, really).

You're too used to the standard, "adult-in-a-child's body" style teenager prevalent in most anime. Kamille is basically a fifteen year old with low self esteem and karate lessons. He can be calm when dealing with someone else's problem, but the second his own ego is brought into it he throws a childish tantrum. Like Amuro in 0079, he grows out of it as his character grows up.

Don't watch ANT, it's shit. It's not like the 0079 compilation movies, where it mostly stays true to the characterization but cuts mostly needless scenes and keeps most of the good ones, it's cuts most of the cool scenes and fucks with the ending. The only good thing that came from that was Yazan's violate line.

The kisamas who made these subs got regularly mocked for not simply keeping honorifics but even pronouns. Amusingly enough, the violate line is actually accurate to the Japanese and it was the official Bandai subs that ended up censoring it to something else.
