I thought the 26 operational frames were the ones known to Gjallarhorn? The Flauros technically was in a sleep mode before it was fixed, and was buried with the Hasmal. Similarly, the Barbatos was found in nearly the same state before the first season, and the Gjallarhorn forces that first engaged it had to scan its frequency in order to determine what it was.

IBO goes for overly-theatrical and 100% telegraphed deaths. Characters getting focus or their backstory explained before they bite it is a pretty common thing to do in any medium, though it can feel like a rather cheap attempt to make the audience sympathize with them for the sake of the ensuing drama. It's kinda why I hate death flags, they ruin the surprise.

I did notice my eyes did get a little wet there myself though, since Naze was one of the few characters that didn't piss me off. That and I love gangster films so seeing a guy like him go is expected but always sad.

Something I like about this season is how Orga's associations are biting Tekkadan in the ass.

I want Eugene to inherit Tekkadan and change it into something totally different with Kudelia and Merribit and Hush etc. Eugene took the longest to warm up to Kudelia, doubted Todo when no one else did, was the first to be pissed at everyone celebrating Gjallarhorn being their enemies and so on, I like to think that he'd be a leader that could be manipulated less than Orga. Mostly because he's not as ambitious as Orga...

What if Orga had just taken up Naze on his offer earlier in the season? But instead he wants to keep Tekkadan altogether and bring them royalty, and they go along with it because they feel indebted to him that he pulled them out of absolute poverty. But most of them were still ready to branch off and were never expecting to be together forever. Orga is too influenced by seeing himself either as an extension of Mika or an extension of Tekkadan.

This motherfucker was put on an earth orbit bus during Biscuit's death and now was just randomly absent during today's episode, when he would have been most useful as an ace starship captain and pilot. He's such a nonentity he comes off as useless and it makes you forget that every time he's actually done shit he's been useful. The meteor stunt in episode 5, the way he made Naze sweat on their first encounter and faked him out completely, the way he outsmarted Carta's fleet, the way he changed the tide in Edmonton, and in S2 he piloted two major ships and a fleet with his mind to help his crew out. The only time something he tried to do didn't work out was his plan to destroy the MAs, and that's because Iok ruined it.

So yeah, if they bothered to write him I do think he'd be a pretty decent leader. Mostly he's just Orga's cocksucking lapdog though and should be killed off since they forget that he can actually do shit. Next episode does seem like he's being held back against Jizzley though, and him and Orga seem to be pissed off about something he either has done or said, so hopefully we can see them actually work together.

I don't see a problem with the firing mode. It's got four points of contact with the ground for stability, claws for recoil. Makes more sense than firing the Dainsleif on two legs. It also fulfills the Ars Goetia description of Flauros turning into a panther: the form has clawed legs, a tail, and a feline mechanical appearance.
