So, how long do you guy think it'll take the group to get back together after last season's cliffhanger? And what do you want to see in the next season? Mys wish list is:

-More robot fights, especially more Voltron. I did like that the used the lions a good bit last time
-some development or backstory for Keith and Lance, beauce they're pretty lacking character-wise. Shiro and Pidge got their backstories, and Hunk got his own arc. They need to be a little more than the sarcastic and serious guy that bicker.
-Some cool name-shouting special attack for Voltron. This one's kinda wishful thinking though.

I'm hoping there's more actual Voltron this season, though with it starting with the team separated, it doesn't look good.

Keith is going to get his time in the spotlight with the masked soldier who is likely Lotor. Hunk had his character arc and got a potential love interest, Pidge got her backstory and motive revealed, Shiro is hinting at something really big. The only one who hasn't accomplished anything really important yet is Lance.

I never watched either version of the original, but this isn't so bad. Watched it on a lark one day when I was alone and had nothing better to do and enjoyed it.

Main issue is that while Voltron forms a few times, it fights an actual beast two times, but they are big goddamn fights that take a lot of screentime and instead of that we get component focus which is rather rare these days.

Probably five episodes - one for each one - for each one, the sixth has them all back together and fighting a new beast as Voltron again (and more than likely if Shiro dies it's going to be either here or at the end of the episodes.). Unless they pair them up mostly like they did in that one ep early on and did like nothing to explore, then it'll be less, but it's going to have an episode focusing on each split group for the most part.

From that point on, who knows? Pie in the sky hope is more big monster fights, as I think the show is going to pick up the pace now that the early arc and major stuff is out of the way, but who knows.

Well we still have 3 individual weapons (Pidge, Shiro, and Lance need theirs) that need to be unlocked at least.

If Shiro does die and Kieth takes over Black Lion, maybe the sword will get turned into a more powerful Blazing Sword? I dunno. I like Hunk's massive shoulder cannon that can also become the Itano Beam Circus though.

Eh... It makes the lions feel important, but while it's clear that Voltron itself is supposed to be really powerful, it's not showing fucking shit at this point. It didn't even win one of the two fights it was in after multiple engagements with the enemy and debuting a new weapon that was basically tailor-made to beat the thing, and it only beat the other one because Shiro happened to know the thing's weakness due to a pretty notable coincidence.

That's part of why I want more big fights, it's not showing itself as being all that great AT ALL right now.

If Shiro dies, it's not due to being chained to Go Lion (and frankly this show owes little to Go Lion) It'll be due to fitting the narrative they are constructing. Honestly it could go either way. Anyone see the new toy line for season two? I was at Target yesterday and saw them on an endcap. Turns out only the highest end figures transform and combine. Otherwise you can buy a big Voltron figure but it doesn't disassemble, or you can buy smaller lion figures, but they don't combine. What's the point?

It's even easier when they're rarely called mountain lions with decades and are mostly called pumas or cougars instead. A mane is the defining aspect of a lion culturally, and always has been. Even in heraldry the mane was one of the primary aspects defining a lion on a crest. There are some lions, even discounting mountain lions that don't have them, but leaving it out when they're always called lions is kind of a weird decision.
