Man it feels like forever since I've seen some traditional Garo. First ep of DB was pretty fun, Rei was sorta Dante-esque at points which was cool. The new girl is cute and all but she's awfully stiff.

I honestly didn't get any bad impression from Alice's character. I'm pretty sure there are real (weird) people that behave in a way similar to how the character was presented here. Maybe when you say stiff you refer to her not panicking hard enough, but even that can be written off by the fact that she was in real danger for mere seconds before Rei came to rescue her, so she didn't really have time to even fully comprehend that she was about to die. Also, wasn't she described as a curious weirdo with a tendency to get in dangerous situation? That could imply that she lacks the capability to feel danger at some degree. To me it sounds pretty shallow to call her acting stiff without considering that that stiffness might very well be intentional. Well, maybe it's just that I'm not the movie critic type.

There SHOULD be armor available using the Gold Saucer, which is easy enough to save up for if you go there every day after you hit level 15. You won't be able to do PVP to get the dyable armor/mounts until you hit 60, though, since no one does 30/50 PVP anymore, and it would take maybe two months just to get up to 60 due to how much obligatory story content there is. Plus, you would have to buy Heavensward just to get there, rather than vanilla FF14.

So, technically, yes, you COULD get some gear, and if the event lasts as long as the previous Youkai Watch event, you might have the chance to get all of it if you grind like a motherfucker.

Better question - once one GETS the armor, is it some limited time thing, or something that can only be used once on one set of armor and next upgrade tough shit? They're glam armor, the time limit is only to acquire it. Once you have it it's yours forever, with different sets for each class. The dyable versions are only acquired via PVP, regular armor via gold saucer, and mounts are achievements throughout the event, presumably unlock-related. The only way you'll ever lose the armor is if you throw it away like a huge asshole.

Got round to watching Dragon Blood ep 1. Like it's already been mentioned, it's nice to have an original back. Only complaint is that the suit fight was nearly all cg, but we've got plenty more episodes so I'm not too bothered.

It's nice having a new Garo toku show to look forward to each week after the anniversary specials and me not liking the animes.

Exactly. She ended her book about the girl with the same illustration she used for the last page of her father's book about the Golden Knight, but flipped horizontally. They show the last page of the Gold Knight book in episode 22 of MAKAISENKI but it's covered in light so it's hard to make out the drawing without having seen it clearly before. They show the last page of Kaoru's book at the end of MAKAISENKI and also as a kind of premonition in episode 10. I'd say when the image was shown in episode 10, most people were lead to believe that it was the end of the Golden Knight book, but ended up being proved wrong when they show the same scene in episode 24 when it actually happens. Still the picture helps one figure out the actual last page when going back to this shot from episode 22.

Some, but not all. You'll likely want to watch the Saejima family ones in order because characters build on their interactions in past installments in future ones, and you probably want to know who Kouga is before you watch Raiga.

Key of Flame, Crimson Moon, Gold Storm, and One Who Shines in Darkness are their own things so it's not so big a deal there.

Dragon Blood ep 2 was great. Nice that the horror actually got some hits in this time, and the timer being onscreen for the whole fight is a cool consistent detail. Rei and Alice have pretty good chemistry together

The jewelry is Silva IIRC, but she's been refined so the rest of her body just straight-up doesn't exist anymore/she'd have to gain a lot of power to become herself again. That's why Zaruba falls apart when he enters Garo near the end of S1 and doesn't have his memories when he's remade, the ring is really him and he had to use up everything he had to get Kouga that armour summon.

Out of curiosity, was Zaruba's body in Lament a recreation of his original body? I know we have production art of his original body but I never compared them.

Not really. The Madogu's personality is actually a Horror's spirit. The jewelry is the container for said spirit, though according to supplementary materials, the Madogu's Horror body still exists somewhere in Makai. Also according to supplementary materials, Zaruba once fought alongside the earliest Knights in his Horror form because he is one of a small sect of Horrors who believe in coexistence with humanity.

What will probably be time limited are the mounts, which in their words will take 100 of something to do. They mentioned having to kill 100 Horrors before getting your horse, so you'll probably have to do 100 FATEs (world quests if you will) or something like that.

Upon watching the scene again, I think they took into account the right process you're describing, but the editing they did was somewhat misleading. When the photo is being developed, it apparently is in a white tray which is shown later when she's taking the photo out of the sink, presumably after washing it.

Primal is a good Data Center. The other NA one, Aether has Balmung and Gilgamesh and both servers have some very cancerous people on them.

Mateus is on Aether unfortunatly. I'm sure the data center won't be that bad if you do want to stick with it, but I personally would avoid it. Also Mateus is the lowest population server in the game. It is decent if you want a smaller close knit community, but some other servers with more players have that feeling so it's up to you. With cross server party finder now it might get better on Mateus.

A good Aether server would be Cactuar I guess. Kind of a mid population server. If you want a house in game later though picking a smaller server would be best.

Word of advice, while it may feel longer, Feast matches are mercifully short most of the time even with the reduced dividends and Feast in general is more entertaining to play than Frontlines. Only do Frontlines for your roulette or if you're aiming for the Ginga mount.

I just finished Biku. I'm still not really on board with the character. I can see they're trying to go for a sort of "female Kouga" vibe, but while he's got the "stoic, but with a good heart" thing going, she's just stiff and short with everyone.

The thing is that Biku's treatment of Daichi, however cold and harsh it may seem, was her protecting him in her own way. She was astounded at how pure his soul was and wanted to protect that. By rebuffing him the whole movie and telling him to back off at the end, she was saving him from becoming bitter and jaded like her and all the other Executioners.
