I marathoned season 1 during the summer, and it was a great watch. Honestly felt like a classic to me.

All I ask is just a goddamn chance for it to be in an SRW roster. I'd play the hell out of it with just the Lagrange team.

In my personal opinion, the tourism aspect wasn't as bad as it seems to gaijins as much as it might be to the actual Japanese folks who live there or around. The show mainly suffers from a severe case of not taking itself seriously at all while not taking advantage of that.

I quite liked how the main characters were like characters I know from other mecha shows such as Gunbuster, Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, Gargantia, etc.

The animation was good and I liked the music.

I couldn't really get into the story though.

I enjoyed it. It's a feel-good show.
Second season makes more sense if you read the manga.
